3 times I've been here, only one of which I actually went in, all 3 times the door staff were rude to me.
The first time, I went with my partner, popped our names and number on the waiting list to be told "we probably won't call you back as we want big groups".
The second time, I politely asked the guy on the door how long the wait was, to which he held up 2 fingers, I said "2 hours?" and he said nothing just continued to hold up 2 fingers. I said "ok, so 2 what?" a couple of times, he said nothing then asked the queue "what do you think?", a couple of people replied "2 minutes". I understand he was just joking but I felt like he was trying to humiliate me in front of the queue, I was just stood there alone feeling silly, instead of just getting the answer I'd asked for.
The third time, I went with 2 friends (3 small non-intimidating girls for reference). Upon joining the queue, staff approached, asked us how many of us and explained the wait. 2 minutes later door staff came over and said "we're not taking groups of 3 please leave the queue", we explained we'd been told it was fine but stepped out. I quickly popped in to use the loo, when I came back out, the same door staff had allowed us to go BACK into the queue and said "don't worry about it". Brilliant. We waited 15-20 minutes in the queue no issues. A group of 3 boys approached us asking how many of us there were as they had been turned away, being a group of 3. They went off to question door staff and we just remained in the queue minding our business. A moment later a DIFFERENT member of door staff came up to us "no groups of 3 step out the queue", we politely tried to explain we'd already been removed once, told it was fine TWICE, and had been allowed to wait for 20 minutes. He wouldn't even look at us, let alone listen to us, and continued to repeat "step out of the queue" (bit humiliating being treated like you're causing issues when you're just stood in the queue). We did as we were told, tried to speak to different members of staff but no one would bother listening to us. They were exceptionally rude and didn't apologise, considering we'd caused no issues and they had messed us around.
The vibe inside is good if you ever get in. Won't be going...
Read moreWe were visiting my son at uni and he wanted to show us a place he goes with his friends. First impressions, Itâs a typical student bar, plenty of screens/ pool tables & seating and the drinks menu is cheap. After ordering about 6 cocktails and some beers I can see why the drinks are so cheap, is there even any alcohol in them?? I had 2 âcocktailsâ and I might as well have had an orange juice. Tasted vile and no sign of alcohol despite downing them quickly. Then. I visited the toilets. It was like walking into a black hole, took a second for a light to come on and when it did I was sorry it hadnât stayed dark. OMG they were DISGUSTING! Absolutely FILTHY! Dirt, dust, chewing gum and god knows what else up the cubicle walls, particularly behind the door which obviously hadnât been cleaned in months. Not a toilet seat in any of the cubicles either. If the idea of painting the entire place black was to hide the filth I can assure you it has not worked. My son ordered food which looked ok but having seen the general state of the place I wasnât willing to take the risk on the cleanliness of the kitchen. I know students want cheap and cheerful, been there myself but I left feeling like they were being taken advantage of. Come on owners/ managers, you can still run a place cheaply while remaining clean and you can still make a profit by putting a noticeable amount of alcohol in your drinks. Sort yourselves out, just because students havenât got much money doesnât mean they should put up with squalor and filth. At the very least get some cleaners who can actually clean and some...
Read moreshould be 0 stars. me and my friend went at 8 o clock sober as we had heard good things about this student bar. turned up at 8, were told to come back in 45 mins, came back in 20 mins we were told to come back in a hour but there were new people in the queue. came back in half an hour and the same again. we explained weâd kept coming back they were rude but let us in the queue behind some boys which had done the same. once in the queue we were told to step back from the boys we were just speaking to across the barrier and they made us step back about 4 metres. we scanned the track and trace but there was a problem so we asked for help and they were rude telling us they hated dealing with people âlike usâ (students) when we were nothing but polite to them asking them about their day and then because we asked for help with the track and trace they said âif you argue you can get out the queueâ and then kicked us back out of the queue when we asked why is it going back to this webpage. one of the workers looked shocked about how rude they were to us considering we were so polite and we were told to âgo somewhere elseâ which is almost impossible in manchester with coronavirus. such an unpleasant experience, ill be...
