I ordered the antipasto platter and immediately noticed that the prosciutto crudo tasted sour and unpleasant. Upon closer inspection, I saw white, fuzzy edges on some slices — clear signs of early mold. I pointed this out to the waiter, who instantly dismissed me, saying, “That’s not mold” and that it was impossible because it had come from the fridge.
I calmly explained that I know what mold looks and tastes like, and that I’ve also worked in a kitchen in Italy — I know what fresh prosciutto should look and taste like. His response? A sarcastic, “You know the taste of mold?” I felt insulted and mocked.
He took the plate to the head chef, then returned with the same line: “It’s fresh, it was stored properly.” But the white fuzzy texture was still there, and the taste confirmed it wasn’t right. I also noticed that the prosciutto cotto looked dried out and not fresh — as if it had been sliced hours earlier and left exposed.
When I insisted the product wasn’t fresh, the waiter said, “Let’s not argue,” clearly trying to hush the conversation so other guests wouldn’t hear. Then he asked, “Should I leave the plate or take it?” I clearly replied, “I’m not eating mold.” He took the plate — and still charged us for it.
To prove my point, I went to Aldi afterwards and bought freshly packaged prosciutto to satisfy my craving. I took comparison photos and a short video showing the clear difference in texture, color, and freshness. There’s no doubt that what I was served at the restaurant was not acceptable.
I was shocked by the complete lack of professionalism, the dismissive attitude, and the zero accountability. If a guest raises a legitimate food safety concern, it should be taken seriously — not met with sarcasm and denial. Extremely...
Read moreWent to Ciao Bella recently with a group of friends, the staff didn't seem knowledgeable and the service was poor, the food orders were slow in coming out (one person had finished their food before others had their food come out) they sent chicken and chorizo skewers out where the chicken was pink and undercooked and had to sent back, I had one chunk of chicken that was raw also (so that's 2 different meals) I just tossed that bit to the side as I didn't want to have to wait for it to be put right. I had a cocktail that was really tasty, gorgeous in fact, so I ordered another one and when it came it didn't taste anything like the first one, not as sweet, no foam on top and just tasted like there was an ingredient missing. I explained to the waitress and she said, "they've probably put the exact same ingredients in but we haven't shaken it, we're busy at the bar" I couldn't believe it, eventually it got sent back for a new one but I think it's cheeky when you pay £8 for a cocktail expecting it to be as nice as the previous one to be basically told 'we can't be arsed to do it properly because we're busy' if that's the case don't let people order them, very poor for a cocktail lounge ! I wouldn't bother going again or recommend to other people, luckily the birthday girl who we were out for still had a lovely night purely because the people she went with made it for her, Ciao Bella had the potential to ruin it and all considered was just the wrong choice of...

My expectations were already quite high as the appearance of the restaurant was lovely and it had good reviews, but I wasn’t expecting this 10/10 service the exceeded my expectation, as we walked in the lovely woman came up to us and said “Welcome! How are you today girls” then the conversation carried on she had a very excited happy tone in her voice which then rubbed of on us and made us smile even more, she had amazing body language which was very greeting and made us feel extremely welcome. The lovely woman then asked us our preference of where wed like to sit from the tables available which was nice that she wasn’t just chucking us anywhere she could get that would be easiest, she then brought us some menu to decide what we wanted to eat and asked us what we wanted to drink which was very quick and amazing service. The restaurant itself was very clean, tidy and had lovely decorations all over and the staff were in their lovely server outfits that were clean and smart. Thank you for this impeccable service will...
