Pizza Hut in Mansfield is nothing short of a disgrace to the restaurant industry. This was my second and absolutely final visit to this sorry excuse for a dining establishment. My first visit was a train wreck: they handed me drink cups so filthy, I wasnât sure if I was at a restaurant or participating in some bizarre hygiene experiment. Against my better judgment, I gave them a second chance. Clearly, I overestimated their ability to perform the most basic functions of a dining service.
This time, they outdid themselves in terms of sheer incompetence. The cutlery I was given looked like it had survived a world war stained and absolutely disgusting. What kind of restaurant canât manage clean silverware? Then came the pièce de rĂŠsistance: they brought out the wrong pizza. Now, mistakes happen, but what followed was nothing short of comedic if it wasnât so tragic. The manager yes, the person supposedly in charge had the audacity to try and gaslight me into thinking the incorrect pizza was what I ordered. Iâd expect this level of customer service from a poorly run fast food chain, not a so called âestablishedâ restaurant.
When this excuse for a manager finally realized they were wrong, instead of apologising or even pretending to care, they clumsily scrambled for the menu, clearly out of their depth. Itâs astonishing to think someone so blatantly unqualified is running the place. If this is the leadership standard, no wonder the rest of the staff are wandering around like headless chickens.
As if that wasnât enough, after the pizza disaster, they couldnât even complete the simplest task of bringing out the desserts. We waited and waited, watching the staff buzz around like confused bees, only to eventually get up and ask where our desserts were. They had them ready but couldnât be bothered to serve them until we physically stood up and asked. This level of negligence is downright insulting.
Pizza Hut Mansfield isnât just bad; itâs a shambles, a case study in how not to run a restaurant. From the utterly careless staff to the clueless manager, this place should be embarrassed to exist in the hospitality industry. I will never return, and I strongly urge anyone with a shred of self respect to avoid this place...
Read moreWhat a very disappointing visit tonight. We arrived at the restaurant around 6:30pm and after a short wait, was seated at table 28. There wasn't much of in-house service, we were told to use the QR code and place an order that way. We had to order and pay plus pay a premature tip. Had to wait for glasses in order to get our drinks and had to ask for cutlery. The food itself was nice, we couldn't fault it, I didn't manage to eat all of mine so wanted to take it home but it was impossible to get a servers attention.
We waited for approx 30 mins for our table to be cleared and to be asked if we were ready for our dessert (me and my husband had gone for the ÂŁ29.99 deal). In the end, I had to find a server and ask, another 30 mins and still no dessert, I was just about to ask for a refund on the desserts when the very miserable waitress came out with mine and gave a very feeble apology for the delay. We waited 10-15 mins for my husbands dessert and realised it was clear that it wasn't coming.
Meanwhile, 2 other customers were complaining about the chicken on their pizza being cold and not cooked properly, and the manager more or less calling them a liar. We then decided to leave and I asked for a refund for both desserts plus the tip. It took some sorting out but will be in my account within the next 3-5 working days đ.
Another issue was the state of the place, it was disgusting, with crumbs down the creases of the seats. The toilets had toilet roll all over the floor. There was no proper receptacle for sanitary items like you would expect in a popular establishment like this, just a plastic bucket bin with a lid and an inch of dust on top. The toilets were full of limescale. Husband said the urinals had dark stains around them where they haven't been cleaned properly. I could understand some of the mishaps if the place was busy but it wasn't.
Needless to say, we won't be visiting again and it will only be a matter of time before it closes, either due to lack of business or because of a visit from...
Read moreI've come to pizza hut many times over the years and often the service is quick and helpful and the food arrives relatively on time. This is what stops me from rating 1 or 2 stars as I am hopeful that today's experience was an infrequent occurance. Today however, we were waiting at the door for 30-45 minutes whilst I could see empty tables. Almost all of them. When asked the staff member, who I assume was manager from his attire, said it was because they didn't want to seat us whilst the kitchen was busy or there'll be a wait for food, to which we responded we'd rather wait sat down than stood. Then after a further 15 minutes we were seated. Being that we waited to be seated so we didn't have to wait to be served, I'd hoped service would be quick, but we sat there with our menus for a further 20 minutes whilst other people who were behind us in line were served first, there seemed to be no reason or rhythm to their order of service. So apparently we had to wait to be served to prevent waiting later, clearly this was not the case. Also food then took a good while to arrive but honestly waiting for food to cook is normal. Overall I was left feeling hangry and found the logic of leaving us standing rather than seated with a salad bowl to be a bit infuriating especially when most people wanted the buffet which was clearly stocked and ready to eat. As I said, I would rate 1 star but this is a first time, so I may amend my rating in future, if I have a...
