If Willy Wonka had a café in town, it’d be this one. Popped into 54a King Street Coffee Shop and left in a chocolate-fuelled trance. The double chocolate cake was so rich, I considered proposing to it. Paired it with a creamy hot chocolate that felt like a warm hug from a cocoa bean. Bonus points for the surprise biscuit on the saucer – classy move! The staff? Super friendly – like the kind of people who’d rescue your cat and make you a cuppa after. Prices? Surprisingly good, so I didn’t even have to sell a kidney. Lovely vibe, cozy chairs, and a menu bigger than my willpower. Will 100% be back (possibly tomorrow).

What a fabulous café. So many interesting and original things on the menu, including some excellent pork pies selections. Fantastic service and the food was outstanding. I really can't recommend it highly enough. Just brilliant. If you're in Melton, make sure you go!!

Amazing Welcome on a Rainy Sunday. The pie platter was beyond expectations and the staff were extremely friendly, Even the kids sat good as there was so much to see inside - This will be our 1st port of call next time we visit Melton

WOW. Visited this cafe with my friend on 4th December. My friend had recommended it to me as she had found it whilst visiting the area recently. We received a warm welcome from a very friendly gentleman named Nigel who showed us to a table for 2 next to the till. The atmosphere was relaxed and decor interesting. We both ordered Melton Mowbray Pie with 2 delicious types of bread, salad, pickled onion, fresh orange and one with amazing Stilton Cheese and one with Cheddar Cheese. Both meals were delicious. We both had a Specially made Sparkling Drink however both were different flavours but very moorish and refreshing, they were lovely . The prices are very reasonable, quality and food was outstanding. This cafe has 'got it right'. Visiting here you won't be disappointed. I asked where they purchased the pie and cheese from so that I could go and purchase some to take home. This I...

I Visited Nigel’s cafe with a colleague yesterday afternoon for something to eat and drink as they didn’t seem to be busy. I went Into the cafe to make my order. I was instructed that if I was not paying, I should go outside and wait to be served. This I did. Thirty minutes later my colleague went into the cafe to enquire only to be told to go outside and wait to be served. Fifteen minutes later we reluctantly left and went to Greg’s, and was served immediately with good food and a much needed cup of tea. This weekend we have organised a Folk music festival encompassing venues around Melton bringing lots of people into our town. All needing refreshing and feeding. Nigel has lost at least...

First time visiting melton and fancied a bit of lunch , found this little cafe off the main precinct and thought we’d give it a try. First impressions were good as a very friendly gentleman came and took our order, then the food came and it was lovely. Hubby had the pork pie, Stilton, pickle and bread. It was a huge portion for the price and the bread was delicious. I had a salad because was trying to b healthy but it came with a lovely bit of specialty bread too. When serving lunch he kindly brought the dog some treats too! All the ladies working there were lovely too. Not often you get such good service at places these days. Credit to the...
