Cafe Smile — Restaurant in Melton

We came on Saturday to have some brunch and i requested the girl on the counter if I can substitute the egg for mushrooms if it wasn't too much trouble

She went to ask and the response was "yeah well do it but better not have any more substitutions" this response was rather rude

I told her this was the only substitute and was happy to pay if needed to which she said that's fine

The ladies in the kitchen then started talking loudly saying Why order this breakfast if people substitute and other places charge for this etc

We were in a rush so didn't complain but the comments were uncalled for and clearly the ladies in the kitchen wanted us to hear this

It was completely uncalled for and as much as we like the breakfast here we won't be returning given its such a big deal to substitute egg for mushrooms

Cafe Smile can be very hit and miss. Sometimes the food can be great and the staff are always friendly but the food isn’t always at the best standard as have had cold food, they don’t always have what you want in and things are not always cooked properly.

Sometimes you have to wait a while for food to get to you as relative of mine had to wait 2hrs for food to be cooked served, the staff tend to blame this on being busy but on this particular day there was hardly any people in the cafe so they cannot use this excuse...

This place is so friendly and caring. The staff are wonderful and caring. They look after my 89 year old father as if he is one of there own. They care about everyone. I hope the senior management realise the brilliant team they have. The regulars are also very friendly, it is like a social club. The food and drinks are good value for money and very tasteful. There is a specials board as well. I never visit Melton without a visit to this cafe. Thanks to the team...
