Everything was going well until i found a clipped, not broken as the waiter suggested but "clipped" nail in my main course. Absolutely sickening. The manager came to speak to me, but when he saw that I had got up and ready to leave, he went back downstairs. He apologised on my way out, and stated "I don't know how it got there, it's probably from the suppliers". I'm sorry, suppliers? Is their food not supposed to be freshly cooked? I guess not! I walked out as fast as I could because I was horrified. Their customer service was ok, but I don't know if that in any way justifiies the clipped nail in my food. I'll never eat there again! Following response on 15/2/16 Wow, true colours shown - Mr Owner. Let me help clarify a few things for you. First of all, I have no ill intention towards you or your restaurant. If you must know why I came alone; I do not live in Solihull, and I'm in the area for work. Yes, I had a glass of water with lime, and ate all my starters. It was nice but i will deal with that later. Regarding your statement about promoting myself - I have no reason to promote myself. I simply wrote the review because I believe people deserve to know what happened, not only is it disgusting but it is not sanitary. I could have easily chosen to go about this quite a number of ways, Owner, trust me, but i did not. I am appalled that after what happened, you are now calling me a liar. I guess, it is easier for you to call one customer a liar and deceive 100's more, than to acknowledge your fault, be honest and move on. I would say this to you, if explanation is required - I took the nail out from my mouth, after the first few bites of my main meal. Hence, why I was sickened. I quietly called over your waiter, who upon inspection, realised it was a clipped nail, and yes it had curry stains. I did not cause a scene or anything. After the incident, I really just wanted to leave the place as I felt to throw up, hence I accepted the apology at the door from who ever that was, if he was not the manager. I am therefore even more appalled at your attempt to defame my character by suggesting "I did not want to pay for my bill and that's why I left". I must say that's pretty low of you. I genuinely enjoyed the starters, it was good and I would be happy to come back today, 15/2/16, after 5pm to pay for that. But your staff and I both know it was hardly after 5 minutes from receiving my main meal that I called the waiter back and showed him the nail - "that i took out from my mouth". Therefore, to suggest that I left your restaurant because I did not want to pay for my food is false, untrue and quite shocking. But like I said, i know it's easier for you. Question - if after the incident, you or your staff wanted for me to pay, why did they not request payment? I suggest they were embarrassed! I would have happily paid for what I ate. To me, money was not even the issue here. I felt sick. If leaving cast doubt in your mind that I left because I was not genuine, as mentioned, I will put that right this evening, and come and pay for the starters. What I want from you, and is required by your customers is to check your kitchen staff are working sanitary conditions, and produce clean food. Honestly, you should be ashamed at the way you've handled the situation, by your attempt to be condescending and call me a liar. Lesson to you- being honest and accepting fault will make you and your restaurant flourish. You denying the incident, and making it out to the public that I purposefully bit my own nail and falsified the incident, seriously? The truth of the matter is, I am a vegetarian and often experience bizarre food, I just don't do anything. But I have never found a clipped nail in my food. Further, after taking the matter to your staff and being apologised to, you now want to reverse that and call me a liar? Come on owner. Hey, I am not angry at you! I forgive you. I just will never eat at your restaurant again. Oh, I guess even if I did consider to, which I will not, you will not let me in right? Wish Panchuli...

My wife and I went to Panchuli last night for our wedding anniversary. Having trawled the Internet for somewhere new to visit, I got lucky and came across this gem. A little out of the way for us as we live in central Birmingham - but what a find and so worth the extra travel time!
The restaurant in located within a 600 year old mansion building with the catering, reception and some dining space downstairs and the main dining areas on the first floor.
As we arrived we were greeted and taken to our table in the main dining space. The area we occupied was spacious and well lit. Once we received our menu's we noticed that beyond what we recognised there were some unique dishes who descriptions were too appealing for us to ignore.
After getting through a couple of poppadums with the obligatory pickle tray, we placed our order with Mr Rahman, the owner of Panchuli. He went through and explained what some of the novel dishes and we confidently proceeded to order:
Starters:
The Classic Mix (For 1) Stir Fried Prawn Puree
Main Course:
Chicken Cafreal Masala Bengal Duck Jalfrezi Garlic Naan Mushroom Pillou Rice
Over the next hour and a bit our palettes were delighted with an onslaught of flavours and textures offered by each of the exquisite dishes!
During a moments repose the head chef came out and greeted us asking if everything was as we expected and if he could do anything more. This was really nice!
During my online booking I noted that we were coming in for our anniversary dinner. This was not missed and we were given a complimentary dish to accompany our order and, unexpectedly, we were presented with a giant warm chocolate cake for dessert!
I don't normally write reviews that are this detailed but I really felt compelled to do so in this instance to convey my appreciation and the experience. If you are after fantastic food, great service and an exceptional and novel experience then the Panchuli restaurant in Solihull is somewhere you really have to visit!
We can't wait for our next meal there and to share the experience with our friends to this...
Read moreWe visited last night as a last minute choice based on the fact that I've been there before as a works meal. Upon arrival we were greeted ok and taken to our table. The ordering process seemed challenging to them and with younger children in our group being a little indecisive this was clearly annoying them. They brought the food out to us and one of the plates was incorrect and at this point one of the servers just abruptly told us to "listen carefully" and "shout up" when they're calling out the dishes. I replied "we are however no one ordered what you have there". This annoyed them as they had just wasted several bottles of J20 because THEY had gotten that wrong as well. Then throughout the meal as we ordered more drinks this server took it upon himself to make sarcastic remarks to the point where one of our family members whom is normally oblivious to anything like that noticed the behaviour. As we were close to finishing we decided we wouldn't spend much longer in there and take our business for desserts etc elsewhere. We let them know that we had finished and they quickly took everything away. At this point another one of the servers instead of talking decided to just point at the items he wanted so we had to guess. This was extremely rude. Upon leaving the reception was hostile considering we had not complained. With so many other rivals in close proximity this should be a reason to ensure customers leave with a pleasant experience. My second but unfortunately last time...
