Golden Panda — Restaurant in Mid Devon

Arrived here one evening expecting a nice meal. Immediately when entering the venue was a pile of chairs that looked like a poltergeist had decided to have a party and thrown several seats toward the entrance. After narrowly avoiding tetanus from splinters and having a right laugh watching my mother in law tackle the chair obstacle course we were lead to our table at the back of the dinning area. The decor was very tired but didn't seem to bother the black mould built up in the corners and down the walls. We choose our drinks and ordered our food. The waitress was clueless when asked about various meals and just said a random string of words that ended up sounding like a child trying to come off intelligent. The food didn't take long to come out, almost to quick. Pretty sure that poor microwave worked his little heart out to the end now deserves a 3 day city break in the Cotswolds. After a few minutes I popped to the loo. Now, they say you can usually judge a venues kitchen by the condition of the conveniences. If this if true.. The toilets were terrible. The top of the cistern cover had been removed and string was hanging out presumably to operate the broken mech inside. All the while exposing a vast amount of more black mould within. All in all the state resembled what can only be described as derilict. So to sumerise our visit, the food was ok. At best. The venue needs some serious money...

Favourite Chinese restaurant in the area and the only one with a sit in restaurant ! Never had a takeaway as we like to sit in whenever we book the owner is quick and efficent on the phone when we book our table which i like, seated promptly and given time to browse the menu, always go for salt & pepper chicken 2 portions as we really like it the meat spring rolls are very good, chicken satay is also very good not too peanutty which i like, always try to choose a different main but never had a main i didnt like 😂, usually atleast one of us will get a sizzling dish which causes everyone to turn round to see what we have, drink selection is good. While decor is a little simple its clean and feels airy in the restaurant, usually the owner will be there at front of house but sometimes it will be an older lady who is just as nice and efficent when...

Went for the midweek buffet for £23. It is not a buffet, it's all you can eat but they cook it fresh from order.

I was worried as there was a large party (10+) that ordered just before us, so thought we would be waiting for ages, but the food came out in good time and the quality was superb. We ordered lots of starters and they were all fresh and super tasty.

Had the sizzling beef in black bean as one of the mains and that was excellent.

Service was great throughout, very friendly and attentive, had a family run vibe.

Excellent value for money.

Little bit dated interior and could do with the radiators turned up a touch, but apart from that faultless.
