Remedies Bar — Restaurant in Mid Devon

Uneducated staff, from bartender to manager! Came back to Tiverton where I used to live and after 10 years decided to go to Remedies with a friend for a few drinks. Having drunk a couple pints of Fosters my friend offered to get another round and this time we decided to go for a couple pints of Heineken. My friend ordered these and just after his first sip he mentioned to me that the beer tasted strange, it was quite unpleasant in fact, both pints! Strait after I called the girl who served us and explained that these didn't taste right, she told me that she would get someone. Another bartender came, gentleman with glasses and beard and started to excuse it due to the girl being new in the job. ...I asked him if we could exchange the pints for Fosters instead, which he denied and to my astonishment he told me that the beers we had ordered were Fosters and said that they were out of Heineken! And just to top it up he told me that he heard me ordering it and that I asked for Fosters, a clear lie, my friend was the one who placed the order (and we look nothing alike)! I asked him to speak to the manager and he told me to speak to one of the security guys if I wanted to complain. I then went to speak to the closest security gentleman, explained the situation, he then took both pints with him and went somewhere. After a while he came back with both pints and told me that the manager said that there was nothing wrong with it. Clearly not happy with the resolution I asked him how I could raise a complaint. He said some website's address, I reached for my phone and started to write...he left...after few minutes of waiting I saw him and asked again for the address , no address given! Somehow a manager lady appeared from nowhere, I explained again and she said its normal they taste different, these were Heineken! I then mentioned that I had been told there was no Heineken, and having had enough of complaining I asked all I wanted was for the pints to be exchanged for Fosters. Terrible place but as the only club you end up here to have some more drinks with mates.

Its a despicable dive. Trashy rude staff at the best of times. The bouncers think they are tough guys or something, they are literally nothing 😂 A mate asked for some tap water and the bar staff got the bouncer who snidely put an empty glass on the bar and said "if you want tap water go to the toilets and fill this up".

TERRIBLE PLACE SHOULD BE AVOIDED...

Well we didn't visit the club but could sure hear all the uneducated, loud, obnoxious crowd every night over the weekend. Fighting, swearing, destroying property literally every night. Feel bad for the folks that live around the clock tower and have to listen to...
