Popped in here on a rainy Saturday lunch time. Staff were friendly and helpful. We both had the Croque Monsieur sandwich.. which was delicious and better than we've had a Cafe Rouge and a couple of other places. lovely thick slices of ham and great flavour.. shame the sourdough bread had sold out, but the granary did a great job standing in! The coffee was very good too.. nice and strong! A shared slice of lovely pecan pie rounded things out nicely :-) Definitely recommend this little gem of an eatery.. do try it!

Great place for stunning coffee and a tasty breakfast. I went for an extra shot on the first coffee. Really well balanced flavour to the coffee. Friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. Definitely towards the top of my recommended list. March 2025, Returning after three years this continues to be an awesome place for a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee, again the food continues to be great tasting and value

What a lovely place to stop for lunch - sitting outside in the sunshine, albeit partly shady with the awing. Really enjoyed the lunch options, bags of flavour! With a couple of lattes - what’s not to like. If you are looking for a lovely lovely place to have lunch pop in, you won’t be disappointed

According to the website breakfast is ‘cooked to order between 9 and 11’. We rushed across town on my birthday to get breakfast at the place we’ve been keen to visit for ages, only to find that at 10:55 they were no longer serving due to not having their usual chef in. That’s fine - disappointing, but understandable! The problem was the appallingly rude staff member who was not serving us, but interrupted her coworker to shout across the bar that we were too late, couldn’t order, and offered no apology or kindness. Fully appreciate the issue with the chef, and that we were close to the deadline, but the way we were spoken to was just so unnecessary, and really put a dampener on what should have been a lovely morning. We’d have stayed and ordered something else had it not been for this staff member speaking to us the way she did. Instead, we’re sat in Mrs Gills ordering breakfast and being smiled at by staff. Won’t...

VisitDevon.co.uk describes Tiverton as a "town full of charm". In that regard The Flying Pickle captures the local appeal perfectly. And if you're assuming the portion sizes are going to be as modest as the prices, prepare yourself for a shock! I did not need to order an extra portion of potato salad to go with my Pastrami and Swiss sandwich (though once I tasted it my choice was somewhat vindicated - delish!) Balanced flavours, relaxed atmosphere, refined country decor and friendly staff. Glad I took the queue of locals as a good sign and stopped in....
