The Kitchen @25 — Restaurant in Mid Devon

Ok food, decent price, horrible customer service. Visited as a family for some lunch - there were some bits missing and not all food available, but that didn't bother us too much as what we ordered was very tasty. One of us purchased a quiche of the day which sadly had raw crust and had to be taken back - after this and placing a new order one of the staff asked about what was wrong with the quiche and when the raw crust was pointed out, she has become very defensive and argumentative, and insistent that it was done right as she was the one to make it. It felt very unpleasant to be a part of a confrontation right as she served us new foods so we've decided to pay and leave instead. The lady threatened to call the police, we clarified we were still going to pay, to which she responded 'Leave, I never want to see you here again'. The argument and insisting she was right continued up to the till where we've requested somebody else to ring us up. The other two members of staff looked on the verge of tears - I felt horrible for them. Went in today for lunch with my partner. Service was good and I browsed the local produce for sale as we waited for our lunch. A great selection of cheese and local produce from biscuits and chilli sauces to cakes and jams. I ordered a BLT which came with crisps and coleslaw and a lovely salad on the side. The bacon was delicious and the portion size was very filling. My partner had a jacket potato which she said she thoroughly enjoyed. The man serving was very helpful when I wanted to try one of the cheeses. I ended up buying local cheese and snacks for later. Would highly recommend anyone to try. Will be going again for...

I can not rate The kitchen @25 highly enough ! Emma and her wonderful team did the catering for our wedding at the end of April 2022. It’s hard to put into words how pleased we were ! Emma was so thoughtful and helpful from beginning to end! Her wonderful team did a fantastic job of preparing and delivering the food for us, even offering to stay on and help serve !
