I have popped into Francisco Lounge Haywards Heath a few times for breakfast or lunch and found it to be very pleasant and enjoyable.
Last night however we booked in as a table of nine for an evening out. My primary complaint is not being warned when we booked that almost the entire restaurant was booked by a large party for a private event involving a quiz night. In consequence, placed in the middle of all this we couldn’t hear ourselves think and our attempts at conversation were totally drowned out by the quiz master. We really should have been told in advance that this was happening and given a choice. I know they had a great night which is super - but we didn’t.
I was also disappointed in the food ( which has previously been good). Last night my chicken was dry, my husbands smoked salmon had an odd pre-frozen texture and the desserts we ordered were incredibly small in portion size. Upon seeing them the rest of our party decided not to bother ordering them. Sticky toffee pudding was dry with virtually no ice cream despite great flavour. The cheesecake portion my friend ordered was minuscule.
Sadly drinks were poor too. I had the worst mojito I’ve ever had - it was completely tasteless and I’m not sure what tonic was in my G&T, but again it was tasteless and it totally drowned my gin. Please bring me my gin and the tonic in a separate bottle so I can make my own choice ! No lemon either.

Read moreWhat absolute shocking aggressive Staff. Turned up today and waited at the "wait to be seated". The manager greeted ne and asked how just table for 1. I said yes and he said is a high bar table ok? I said I prefer a normal table please. He said give him two minutes. During this time he went to clean a tabke of 4 that just left. During this time more people entered and was standing behind me. He then greets them and take them to this table. I waited. A blonde lady then cane over asking me if I want a table and I said thanks the guy/manager turn out are already finding me a table. She then offers me the bar table again and I said no I prefer a normal table. She then tells me well you can "have the bar table, or I can ask you to leave"!!!! I said really what have I done, what is going on and asked to see the Manager. The same guy then came back and told me he has offered me the bar table which is now gone, or I can sit on a armchair in the window. I again said I prefer a normal table. His behaviour was aggressive and quite frankly out of order. I told him I was just asked to leave at which point he directs to a table saying there someone has just left you can go there. After the incident I declined and left, and as I exited the door he mumbled something inappropraite to the customer behind me about me. Let me ask you this? Read moreWe often go to the Lewes Fuego lounge and really looked forward visiting HH Francisco lounge. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Love the interior Quirky and attractive as are all the Lounges. I think people need to be a little more patient as the staff find their feet and let's face it, by now we are probably all aware hospitality is facing a massive headache finding sufficient staff. We both ordered avocado on sourdough with poached egg. Which was delicious. I was a little taken aback by the size of our meal portion which differed from the Lewes one. It was Considerably smaller ( it never usually leaves me hungry but this did). I had assumed there would be a continuity between branches. But oh dear the coffee. I only drink coffee if out. Always tea at home. My choice is a one shot latte, two shots being to strong. This one was like hot milk and tasteless. Next time i had two shots and it wasn't much better. My friends cappuccino was unpleasantly weak as well.. Please either change your coffee blend or make it stronger. It really wasn't nice and I am not the only one who’s been in saying it.
