I recently visited Olé Tapas Bar in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, and it was an exceptional experience. Tucked away in the historic Triangle Building, the restaurant exudes a cozy and authentic Spanish ambiance. The warm welcome from Beatriz and the attentive staff made us feel right at home.
We started with the Olé Platter, a generous selection perfect for sharing. It featured suckling pig croquettes, crispy chicken strips, chorizo lollipops, and Padrón peppers, all served with chorizo mayo. Each item was freshly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented.
For mains, the Arroz Negro stood out—a rich squid ink rice dish with fresh squid and prawns, accompanied by aioli. The depth of flavor was remarkable, and the seafood was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the Gambas al Ajillo, garlic prawns served with crispy garlic and hot smoked paprika, which were both aromatic and delicious.
The dessert was a delightful surprise. The churros were crispy on the outside, soft inside, and came with a luscious chocolate orange sauce. However, the highlight was the rice pudding, which was creamy, sweet, and topped with caramelized sugar—a perfect end to the meal.

Read moreWe stumbled across Ole Tapas Bar on an impromptu walk with the family. I spotted it and mentioned to my dad thats the Tapas bar my friend recommended. My dad has been craving some Tapas after their holiday was cut short as we were going into the UKs first lockdown. We looked through the window and was dithering. A lady popped her head out and asked in a very friendly manner please come in and have a look. We felt so welcomed and she explained the menu to my Mum and Dad. Now as their party was having to be cancelled due to COVID-19 this place felt perfect for close family to celebrate their Golden wedding. Nothing was to much for team Ole and they communicated promptly to our questions and requests. The day finally arrived and they had decorated our area for us. The service was top class and we quickly forgot we was in the UK as the atmosphere whisked us away to Sunny Spain. As for the food .... well I can't fault it. Flavours just burst in your mouth and everything was cooked to perfection. The presentation of the food was a work of art. This has got to be some of the best food I have ever tasted. If you have not visited this restaurant I ask why not. It is a foodies heaven and you feel at home as soon as you sit down. Even wearing mask I felt like everyone was smiling. I'm sure we will be having some take out food until it reopens after the 2nd lockdown then will be back enjoying a...
Read moreA little hard to find from Stratford Road as there was no sign outside (doh!), it was a bit hidden away, but inside the place looks smart and welcoming. The food was brilliant - I'm not normally a big fan of tapas but this was great: the special was fresh squid stuffed with prawns, the acorn fed pork was sensational, the toffee goats cheese things were amazing. In short it was really surprising food, flavours and tastes that you won't get anywhere else. Really worth a visit. We had 6 tapas between two of us which was just right once we'd had the almond tart pudding (excellent).
The only negative was the wine. We went for the best wine on the menu and it was frankly a bit average. Likewise we had an amontillado sherry with pudding and again it wasn't terribly special. The prices on the wine were pretty reasonable, but with such fabulous food you really want some knockout memorable wines to accompany it and I'm sure there must be some in Spain somewhere. If they can find some really exciting wines to match the food then this place will be near perfect.
Service was good too. Just right.
Overall definitely 5 stars even if the wine could be a bit...
