Chilli & Spice — Restaurant in Mole Valley

This score is actually a 3.5 but only because delivery service has been consistently poor over my last 3 orders. Ok last one was Christmas Eve. I should cut some slack? But the order clearly states ready for delivery by 7.30 (we asked for the 7.30 -45 slot as awaiting some visitors at that time). It arrived at 6.50. meaning we had to keep it warm for the next almost 1 hour. The previous two orders had been delivered late by 20 and 40 mins. Is there a clue to late deliveries in the post code? I don't know where 2EW is but previously our orders have been to Westcott before reaching us and we are literally 5 mins walk from the restaurant. Ending on a bright note. The food has always been reliably tasty and good size portions. It would be a foolish move not to offer continued custom but they do need to sharpen up delivery,

My mother had food poisoning after a takeaway meal here. When I called the restaurant to complain I spoke to a man who asked me my name. And then asked me if I was Muslim and if I was British or not! Totally inappropriate.

When I finally spoke to the manager he told me they'd sold 15 of the dish my mother had eaten that night and no one else had complained. I find that very difficult to believe. Won't be going there again...

This is my second takeaway from here and it didn’t disappoint. This time we ordered king prawn Shatkora ( delicious) , mushroom rice, brinjal bhaji, saag bhaji, lamb madras and poppadums. The brinjal is the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve tried many over the years. Ordered over the phone which was easy and was told it would be an hour wait as busy but arrived within the hour. I can’t find fault...
