As someone who’s eaten rice every day for 50 years as a Korean, I can confidently say that Kawamura offers something truly exceptional — far beyond what you'd expect from a typical takeaway.

The quality and freshness of the ingredients are on a whole different level. Most takeaways fail miserably when it comes to rice — often using poor-quality grains and cooking them without care. But the rice here is better than what I make at home, which is something I never thought I’d say about a restaurant at this price point.

I also want to highlight the teriyaki sauce. As a long-time lover of teriyaki, I instantly recognised that this is a handcrafted sauce made with a special recipe. nothing wrong with what I ordered, except the price. I absolutely love sushi, but the price was rediculous. for 2 pieces of salmon Nigri cost £5 if I remember correctly. If you love katsu, you have to check out this cozy Japanese spot, serves some of the best katsu I’ve ever had. Seriously, it’s next-level good. They even have a vegetarian katsu option, which is super cool if you’re not into meat. The portions are generous, and everything feels really fresh.

The vibe here is laid-back but still has that nice Japanese touch in the decor. The staff are super friendly and quick to help out if you’re not sure what to order.
