Just been into this cafe and ordered two coffees before sitting down at table. Oh my goodness I have never been in such a dirty cafe! All tables that were available were full of dirty dishes which customers were clearing away them selves. Other tables that had been cleared were dirty. Sugar bowls were sticky and grimey with tea stains in and out side of them and sugar is damp. When our coffees arrived the mugs were dirty( I’m not lying here). The dirt between the wood on the tables is quite disturbing. A dirty sticker with hair on it sat on the windowsill right beside me at eye level.. it turned my stomach! The young waitress was lovely and really understanding about the grime in the cafe and that we didn’t want the coffees and just a refund, this wasn’t an issue to the waitress and she quickly got me the manager who I requested to speak too regardless. This is where the experience got even worse and the manager decided he, quote “ will not have this conversation with you” and told me he wanted to give me the money and wanted me gone! No way to speak to any customer regardless of the complaint or issue. It is unacceptable behaviour from a manager and it’s disgusting that he wouldn’t even let me show him or allow me to speak to him about the issue at hand, and stormed off in front of all other customers in a huff. The waitress was a thousand times more polite, understanding and professional than a man who they allow to be manager! Disgusted. Will never! Ever! Return here due to the dirt but even if that was sorted, the manager on duty has spoiled the name of the cafe! Never again will return and will spread the word of my experience and no recommendation from me...
Read moreThe food used to be so good. I came to my local BTP in Ringwood and the food wasn’t very good at all. I ordered two West Country breakfasts with a substitute for tomatoes for one of them, and when it came out they’d done it for both.
The food also seemed like it had been cooked only enough to be served, as if they’d rushed it despite being quiet. The bacon wasn’t cooked very much and was too fatty and soft to eat properly, the one thin sausage I got looked like something out of a cheap supermarket multipack and also wasn’t cooked very well, the scrambled egg looked and tasted like a fried egg that had been chopped up, and the substitute hash browns were nearly burnt. The toast however was done perfectly, oddly enough. Over £8 is too expensive for the quality of what you get.
The latté I had was nice though, very tasty. It’s a shame as I so used to enjoy going there regularly as the food and drinks were always excellent even when very busy, but I’ve been very put off of going back again. And this isn’t the first time recently that I’ve been unhappy with my food or service either. I don’t know whether it’s a change of management for this particular branch, or whether this is the standard in every branch, but I will wait to hear from others if it ever improves again.
Like I said though, the coffee was fine, so I would recommend them for that (hence the second star rating), but otherwise I’d avoid them. There are far better cafés in Ringwood now like Cafe Velo or The New Forest Pantry that have a higher quality food and drink, I highly...
