Jacqueline's tea rooms and gifts — Restaurant in New Forest

Took my Mum for a Saturday morning breakfast where we were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome from Jackie and Hannah. The service was great, Mum had a latte served in a homely mug, as no alternative to dairy milk no oat/coconut/almond I had to settle for the same. The quirky mugs added to the ambience of the tea house experience. We were offered a varied menu and a full English breakfast was offered ‘off menu’. With both Mum and I not being able to eat so much we asked for a bacon sandwich and a sausage and egg sandwich. These came in great crusty bread but too be honest, wasn’t the best as my sausage seemed to be microwaved and the egg was hard. Added to this, I over-heard the comment from the ‘chef’ in the kitchen that this was ‘not on the menu so shouldn’t have been ordered’. Having a full English available I thought a bacon or sausage derivative was not too much of a challenge. As I say, our experience was a good one due to Jackie, Hannah and Joshua, who got balled out in earshot for turning up late. Where do I start! From the moment my sister in law and I arrived the service was appalling. The lady that served us had the worst attitude as if we were a hindrance to her day. That wouldn't have mattered had the food been good but it was awful. Two paninis which took ages to arrive, the beef, onion, mustard and cheese one had sooo much mustard in it it stung my nose and was inedible. The cheese and ham panini was really greasy and the side salads on them both had a vinegar dressing which just taste of vinegar and nothing else with some sort of crumb on top which mad the whole salad have a very weird burnt taste. No one came to check on us. When we finally got some attention we explained about the food. She went to the kitchen for all of two seconds then came back to take payment of which sounded like she was asking for the full amount. We asked if anything had been done in regards to our complains and she said yes we've taken 50p off. 50p!!! So we paid pretty much the full amount for a panini you couldn't even eat.
