The Indian — Restaurant in New Forest

Called on Friday 1st July at 4.45pm to book a table. Phone answered and a lady asked for my phone number to call me back which she duly did in approximately 10 minutes. I asked to book a table for Saturday 2nd July at 7.30pm, she then told me that I could either have 6.30pm or 8.30pm and I chose 8.30pm, and I gave her my name as requested. She then ended the call with "Thank you we will see you tomorrow". Turn up at a very busy restaurant on Saturday 2nd July at 8.25pm and they cannot find our booking. As if that wasn't bad enough no-one seemed remotely bothered!! A gentlemen said that he would go and find someone and never came back and the lady who I had obviously spoken to on the phone (She was looking quite sheepish!! at this point because I had explained that I had rung the previous day!) said "Sorry we have nothing available", and then basically left us to serve someone else. I know this is a new venture but they need to sort out their booking system. Totally unacceptable. Food might be lovely but unfortunately we never got to find out and I am dubious about rebooking having already had one...

My experience for the second time has been unacceptable the staff need retraining what is the point of booking a month in advance and the table was in two sections of the restaurant your daughter who didn’t let us speak at all says that she is manager for the evening who left us at the front waiting wiv two young children as she didn’t know what to do as obviously you had a larger group in took priority we came in at 5.30 and we would of been out by 6.30 so you could of resolved it so easy. She said the manager wasn’t in yet you were in and you should have dealt with the situation instead of leaving your 16 year old daughter to deal with it. Don’t worry about barring us we will not be back to...

We Decided to try The Indian tonight so I orderd for collection. Food was ready after 20min so I went to pick it up. We ordered chicken jalfrezi, Chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka starter, peshawari nan and some poppadoms. Everything came to around £33. The overall experience wasn't very pleasant. Chicken in all the dishes was extremely dry bland and didnt taste fresh. We recieved a garlic nan instead of peshawari nan. Quite dissatisfied and disappointed. The restaurant claims to have a chef with 5 Michellein stars and over 25 years...
