Read moreIt's a beautifully maintained park with lots going on for kids and adults. The sensory garden is stunning in the summer, the aviary is interesting and the mini railway is absolutely cute AF! Note that it's free with a donation. There is soft play, a cafe that caters to children, large playground aimed at older kids and lots of interesting sculptures and plants. I love the artistic use of the tree stumps! Plenty of picnic space and while you can bring your dog, I'd only bring a fairly bomb-proof pooch. Lots of kids and noise in the holidays. The toilets I saw in the museum are well appointed.
Now, why could I have knocked off a star? The (quieter) museum cafe was nice enough but the range of drinks available was limited to a few expensive options like Fentimans rose lemonade etc. Also, I read that there was a small mammal enclosure but we couldn't find it- so signage could be a lot better. It was one of the reasons we chose the venue! Not enough to actually knock a star off but worth considering.
We didn't go in to the museum as it was too hot a day but it's definitely on my...

The park and sandpit are a little tired and as you would expect to find in any local playground. The water pump was padlocked and we never found the wood. To be fair, the museum was closed when we visited and perhaps this may have dramatically altered ourt overall experience
Parking is free and food and drink are cheap, which was a definite positive. However, the owners of the cafe were not happy with children using the toilet unless they were in soft play ( £3.75 per child) and we had to remind them we had bought food and drink and were paying customers on multiple occasions.
It is very much a locals park and fits that bill perfectly. Just don't travel any distance to get the Brampton...
