It's nice to see a pub busy these days, this place gets a few in on a Friday night and for good reason. So many pubs started to shift their focus too far towards food and suffered for it, I like that this pub does the basics extremely well and keeps it's standards up. There are always plenty of ales on offer and they refresh their line up regularly, always without impacting upon the quality of what they offer.
I think of this place as somewhere that leans more to the traditional image of a pub. It's layout and decor conform to that without being run down, it preserves what many feel a pub should be; homely, welcoming and comfortable.
This place is hidden gem, at least to those who dont live locally. Having moved to Kidsgrove recently i'm really pleased this place is on my doorstep, i'm just sad I didn't find out...
