so i've been to Bangrak twice now - the first time was prime dinnertime on a Saturday and the second was a casual Wednesday just after 5pm, both equally as pleasant.

i tried a decent selection of dishes from the starters and in my honest opinion, none really stood out. we ordered the crispy fish sauce chicken wings, the fishing basket and spring rolls and all seemed a bit too oily, the flavour was there but we couldn't escape from the grease but that might have been my indecisiveness wreaking havoc and poor pickings were made.

i then gladly dived head first into their tom yum soup as this was the star of the show and soon i forgot about any lacklustre appetisers - very flavourful and rich, far from the stuff you get out of a jar! if this was the soup i had to drink for the rest of my life, i think i'd be okay with that.

another mention is their massaman curry with tender bits of beef and potatoes in a sweet mild curry sauce - may be biased but i dont care, anytime there's potatoes stewed in a curry sauce, i'm gonna like it because potatoes are god-tier vehicles for flavour and this massaman was no exception to that fact.

would definitely go to...

Was greeted by a really polite and kind young waiter. He made my evening even easier when he helped me chose, as I was alittle unsure on what to order.

My evening sadly started off with some really impolite customers and was really glad they left shortly after I sat down.

The really inmate setting is perfect for this restaurant, however I wish they were playing some nice authentic music rather than music you'd hear in really posh establishment, as it did not fit this special little gem.

All food was presented really well! The Satay Skewers starter was epic and probably the tastiest Satay recipe I have tasted! I was alittle unsure about the Duck (Ped Pad Khing) as it was sadly alittle fatty but still tender and not chewy. I decided to also try the Duck Red Curry (Gang Dang Pad) and was thrilled to see they had a Tapas sized portions, as it was a lovely side with the Thai Jasmine Rice!

The most surprising part of my evening was desert. I never really had a tradition Thai Desert so I thought I would try the Banana in Coconut milk. I was alittle skeptical at first but I shouldn't have been as it was beautiful!

Overall I highly...

I have ordered Tom yum Chicken soup & Pad Thai delivery was fast & the food was very hot however the Tom yum I have tried in so many Thai restaurants across the world in-fact Thai food is so personal to me . I traveled a lot dine in places like benjarong, udon Thai , little Bangkok etc . Thai kitchen dubai , hence I know the soup which I received yesterday it was not authentic Tom yum . It was fully overpowered by lemon grass I don’t get the right tangy taste which normally you can taste on your palate it was missing. It was taste literally like chicken clear soup & looks as-well . Pad Thai was same again I couldn’t find any eggs I saw the Ratings for this I ordered . It’s not my expected Pad Thai which I was looking for . I really need to say the prawns cooked perfectly in this . However the pad Thai was not a Pad Thai it was sweet enough plain flat noodles with sprinkles peanut . I never thought of ordering dessert...

What a lovely place. Most delicious food, but beware it is on the spicy side. If you're feeling delicate with certain hotness, steer on the safe side. But for us it was the perfect amount of spice, even in the ubiquitous prawn crackers that turned out much better than the standard fare. We loved the spicy pawpaw salad starter and coriander dip that came with the lovely tofu fresh rice paper rolls. The prawn main and the much mentioned green curry likewise hit the spot. Service was also very friendly and adapting happily to our preference to share dishes (which it seemed they weren't naturally set up for). Always happy when they feel confident to make recommendations too. Overall a most enjoyable evening. If you're not sure where to go, try Bangrak!
