Shocking Sunday lunch

We booked a table for 8 family and friends for Sunday lunch today, Sunday 24th October. We ordered our food, 8 main courses, 5 lamb and 3 beef. We waited 55 minutes from ordering until food arrived. We waited expecting additional veg as there were hardly any on the plated dinners, but none came and we realised that what was on the plates was all we were getting. The meal consisted of 1 carrot, a 1 inch piece of parsnip, a teaspoon of turnip, 1 tiny roast potatoe, 2 small pieces of cabbage leaf about 2 inches square, a very small portion of mashed potato, and a large but cold Yorkshire pudding with minimal thin tasteless gravy. The lamb was so tough it was a struggle to even cut it and so chewy, disgusting! The 2 thin slices of beef were curled up at the edges, dry and tasteless, we paid £14.00 each for a main course, which was shockingly poor value for money! The overall experience was absolutely unacceptable, terrible value for money, very very small portions, and not what would be expected for the price, and £27.00 for a bottle of house white wine just added insult to injury. We received a refund for one of the main lamb meals, as the rest ate their food as hungry after such a long wait. The waitress apologised but no more and she looked embarrassed that we weren't impressed with the food. We would never visit here again and were jointly furious at the amount of money we'd spent for such poor food! This 'gastro pub' needs to look at their food offering and make major improvements asap. Would we recommend visiting here for food? ........

Monday lunch there !! Good looking traditional decor pub where you expect a bit of genuine comfort English food !! Let’s say that it is still a dream to have !! Ordered some sausage and mash , veggie pie, collies salt and pepper chips £7.50 a bowl small where the chef forgot half of the dish ( no salt chillies and pepper 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️and burrata with pickled beetroot and cucumbers for £8.50 ) where it was beetroot from the pack not pickled at all and no pickled cucumbers who have been replaced by gherkins after asking if it was a mistake not to have it on the plate 😂😂who was not a plate even !!!! Very disappointing for the price !! You can expect a bit of quality !!! I am not asking for quantity just that as customer we are allowed to receive what we ordered from the menu as we read it !!!! Why people who cook and serve do not ask themself what will they say if we bring the same to them at the same price !!! Packed mozzarella and packed beetroot from any cheap supermarket !!!! And we have been waiting at least 45 minutes to be served !! Just a point is that when we pay before ,we do not give half the money or the shop do lot have to convert any money they ask for an amount and they got it straight away without any discussion nor complaints !!! Clients side should be the same we should get what we are asking service and...

My husband and I arrived without a reservation and were told there was no room. There were several empty spots but we were told they were reserved and to go upstairs. The grumpy bartender upstairs told us all seating was reserved and put us in the back corner of the place to eat. While we ate there were no less than 3 empty tables. We then asked if we could be seated at a table since they were absolutely empty. We were told they were reserved. A group of four came in, without a reservation and they were seated immediately at one of the empty tables. We finished eating and there were still 2 empty tables. We then moved to one of the 2 remaining tables to finish our beers.Without asking. We left when done and left 2 empty tables. We went downstairs and it was 50% empty. We were seated in the utmost uncomfortable place to eat, on purpose, for no other reason whatsoever than to be rude to us and make us unwelcome. Also, no manners at all whatsoever. I said "thank you" "greatly appreciate it" etc to the bar tender and he just gave me a dirty look. Same with the hostess downstairs. Other patrons were asked if they needed anything and how everything was but not us. The food was delicious, the only salvation. One of the best fish and chips I've had so far in the UK. Unfortunately, atrocious service and hostility towards...

The Bridge Tavern, Newcastle - Exceptional Brews, Delicious Roasts, Brilliant Customer Service, and Dog-Friendly Charm Under the Tyne Bridge The Bridge Tavern in Newcastle continues to impress on multiple fronts. Not only does it boast a unique location beneath the iconic Tyne Bridge, lovely artisan ales brewed in partnership with Wylam Brewery, an excellent roast dinner, and brilliant customer service, but it's also a dog-friendly establishment, making it an even more welcoming spot for many. Knowing that The Bridge Tavern welcomes well-behaved dogs adds another layer of appeal. It means you can enjoy their fantastic offerings without having to leave your furry friend at home. This inclusivity further enhances the already positive atmosphere, making it a great spot for a relaxed outing, whether you're a local dog owner or a visitor exploring Newcastle with your four-legged friend.
