Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

I got a drink from the drive-thru. I had been at the doctor's and hospital earlier that day. I though that I treat my self. I order an frappe Salted Carmel drink (not know why they had to change the name from frostino and add coffee) I was with my dad as he went with to doctors and hospitals. My dad is hard of hearing. I said to him an salted Carmel frappe without coffee and biscuit topping. And he said that and the person keep on asking did I want coffee and cream in it. One point my dad says why you have to order such an hard drink. I said it's not just an salted Carmel frappe without two things it's not hard at all. I was tired was I not been sleeping well and the problem I had was to do with my neck. So went my dad says you tell him as we both want to go home at this point. I had to say again to the person again and again and again how I wanted my drink. And they still put coffee in it. I know they put coffee as it was very bitter taste to it and it was an different colour...

We came in during the last hour of service, the girl cleaning up did not look pleased! But there was almost an hour to go so it's not like we came in the last couple of minutes.

First we ended up with luke warm coffee but we thought nevermind.

We had brought a couple of snacks with us because we decided last minute we will have a coffee with them.

We were about to bite into them when the girl who seemed to be in a bad mood said we can't have food from outside. I can't see why not, we are paying customers? No signs anywhere? If so, not clear at all.

She could have said, for next time please avoid this (we come now and then as we are locals). But no, as if she stood there and made us put them away. I was like we are pretty much the last customers (only 2 or 3 others) it's not going to hurt anyone.

If we hadn't took them out of the packet about to eat them I wouldn't have been bothered. But it was just embarrassing to be honest and awkward. We clearly...

The last time i went to Costa Coffee st.James Park I have been asked to tell my 2 toddlers not to play with their small hotwheels 🚗 on the glass doors as they would "scratch the glass". If you have a toddler, you will know exactly how small these cars are and how ridiculous it is to scratch any surface with them ... 30 mins after that, we have been told to ask our kids to 'act like normal children' and not to run around. Again, if you have an almost 3 year old and a 18 month old you know that children this age don't sit still for very long. We have also been told that 'regular children' sit down and 'regular people' control their children. My wife and I actually took offence as not a single customer was bothered by this. In fact, the coffee grinder was much louder than anything else in the cafe. Needless to say that we won't be visiting this cafe again!! I wonder what is going on with Costa lately and the level...
