Simply outstanding! This is one of the most phenomenal meals I've ever had. Where do I start ... Service - friendly, professional, and welcoming. All the staff were amazing. It's the little things that really make a difference, like asking to take your coat when you arrive. When trying to choose from an amazing and taste provoking menu, the staff were knowledgeable to describe the tastes, textures, and even sources of the foods. As a fussy/particular vegetarian they even marked on the menu the things I could eat (of which there was a fantastic choice) and when the food was served they even pointed out the dishes I could eat.

An extensive drinks menu, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We had a bottle of red wine and some IPAs. Once again, amazing.

I can not describe how amazing this restaurant is. Fantastic food, fantastic service, we've left pleasantly full, and all our taste buds have been tickled.

If you're in Jesmond, it is an absolute must to visit! I'm thoroughly impressed and will...

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant seemed quite busy but the seating layout meant it didn't feel cramped. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about both the drinks menu and the food menu. We ordered the steak, pork belly, cabbage (I'm sure it was a cabbage dish but I can't find it on the menu anymore), pea fritters, and focaccia. The focaccia and topping was superbly paired with a lovely oil. The pea fritters were matched perfectly with a lovely mint sauce - definitely a highlight. The steak was complimented well by a crumble. The cabbage had an amazing charred crumble on top as well. The pork belly was cooked really well and the flavours were great but I found the tonnato quite overpowering but I am not a huge anchovy fan, however my partner quite liked it. Overall, the dishes were masterfully put together, the space is designed well making it cosy but not overwhelming and the staff were helpful, friendly and...

Very cool little restaurant visited whilst on holiday. We booked fairly late on and as a result were sat in the window, the seats are not particularly comfortable but if you book late, you take your medicine. Just something to be aware of.

Food was excellent, the hake and the lamb particularly delicious. Service was courteous and professional, wine was also good. It was super busy even though it was a Sunday and had a nice atmosphere.

It was very good value for money, we've found this a couple of times whilst up here - even the more up market places are pretty generous on the portions. I would call these medium plates rather than small! We ordered three each as recommended but if you don't have a big appetite 5 or even 4 would be fine, particularly if you want pud!

Well...

Recent winner of GFG Best North East Restaurant and deserved entirely. Great interior, lovely staff and brilliant food. Late sitting booking but getting us to a table 20 minutes early wasn't a problem. Relaxed and knowledgeable server dealt with gluten intolerance questions easily. Both food and drinks menus were well thought through. Highlights were the Hake with Bloody Mary sauce, famous deep fried sage leaves and superb basque cheesecake. A mid-week dinner saw full tables creating a warm buzz in the room with a lot of chatter focused on the plates of food coming out the kitchen. Highly recommended!

Love this place. Banging wine list and some incredible food. Love the range of premium and affordable drinks, from £5 to £25 so fine if you’re on a budget but great if you want to splash out. Food highlights were fried chicken, steak, mussels, dry fried sage and to be honest all of it - really loved the gooseberry stuff under the sardines too that was news on me! Lovely space with a great atmosphere and top staff. They were also super accommodation about my inconvenient chilli intolerance which I appreciated. 10/10

The service and food were amazing. Everyone on the table agreed it’s the best food we’ve had in a long time and the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout - unfortunately I forgot to ask the name of the man behind the bar but he was brilliant! He let us try wines and was very knowledgeable offering us good recommendations throughout and even gave my mother a free glass of fizz for her birthday. On top of this, the food was all delicious and I couldn’t fault any of it. Couldn’t recommend more!
