The Lonsdale Pub in West Jesmond is a true hidden gem, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The décor combines traditional pub charm with a modern twist, making it perfect for both casual drinks and lively evenings with friends. The space is cozy, with a lovely outdoor seating area that’s great during warmer months, and inside you can find both quiet corners and bustling areas depending on your mood.

One of the highlights of the Lonsdale is its impressive drink selection, featuring local ales, craft beers, wines, and spirits. Whether you’re a beer lover or prefer something like a crisp gin and tonic, there’s something for everyone. The rotating craft beers are always exciting, offering something new to try every time you visit.

What truly sets this pub apart is its fantastic service. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, always happy to recommend a drink or have a quick chat. They create a welcoming atmosphere where you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Despite being busy on weekends, the service never feels rushed or impersonal.

Overall, The Lonsdale is a standout pub in Jesmond. Its blend of great drinks, inviting ambiance, and superb service make it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening or a catch-up with friends. You’ll find yourself coming back...

Thanks Mr Elliot, came over from Liverpool and weren’t expecting much from Newcastle, especially after their performance in the Prem, but here we go.

Was a cold December night and I had a thirst only eighteen litres of draft beer could quench. A light in the tunnel guided me to the warmth of Lonsdale Hotel Newcastle. There he was - the Messiah of Booze. I walk over to the bar unbeknowethed of what was to become.

Next thing I knew my mouth was welded to the glass, time after time The Messiah replenished the glass of the mana of English men, the fuel of domestic violence cases and what separates man from boy.

Balancing between pork pies, pints and passing out the Messiah draws a breath, “last orders”. I pull myself together to lob my pint glass at the girl ordering espresso martinis, bosh - headshot, and thrust my body past the swines ordering dark fruits.

The final Stella. Suckled down with delight. I grab my jacket to go catch my train home. Arriving in Lime Street Station should have felt like home, but home is where the heart is and my heart is in Lonsdale Hotel bar.

It’s an ok pub but why don’t they have enough staff? The queues for pints make it not worth the hassle. I used to go there for events like rugby games but the lack of staff just makes it more hassle than it’s worth.

I’m here in the pub for the rugby World Cup final -England playing and it’s packed at 8.30 am. They have total 3 bar staff and there’s a queue out the front door to get to the bar.

Bit of a joke pub. It could be better if they took themselves more seriously and employed enough staff. Don’t they want to sell drinks or do they like making their patrons wait 20 mins to be served? It’s my last time here. In future I’ll just go somewhere that values it’s...

Went here for a Christmas dinner and I ordered the vegan option. For the starter (soup) I didn’t get any bread when literally all bread other than brioche is vegan, my friend got bread with a bit of butter for the non vegan option so Clearly there is bread. Also, I received the main with no gravy and here is a picture of it… not sure how the waiter served this with a straight face. Could of just got bisto gravy and made that for vegan option, Cleary the restaurant doesn’t know what vegan food is if they don’t give u bread for a soup. Would rather they didn’t even put a vegan option on the menu instead of this joke of a substitute. Also the pub ran out of beer at 8:30pm..

Cannie little pub 2 mins walk from west Jesmond metro station. Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Clean tidy and so we're the toilets. Wheelchair accessible entrance and toilet. Not bad prices for drinks. Lovely cocktails. Didn't have food on this visit but did browse through menu and think I might be back to try the fudge cake, Maybs share with my 8 year old grandson lol. Sporty bar, with few TVs and pool table and darts board upstairs. I noticed someone playing scrabble from behind the bar also. Will I return and recommend, YES😊
