Millfield House — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Let's start with a positive? The atmosphere in here was really nice today! I think every table was taken and the place was bustling!

I can't believe I spent £14.60 on a cup of coffee in a paper cup which was just drinkable, a can of Pepsi Max, ( no glass offered ) and 2 chocolate muffins which were clearly from Costco! ( no plates, just a paper bag, no napkins ) I feel well and truly ripped off!

The service was very questionable! The staff were totally disinterested and it was like pulling teeth trying to get them to serve me! I heard someone ask what the pasties were, they reply: pasties! Very helpful!

The place is very very dirty! The floors were absolutely scruffy, the table we sat at, which was the last table available was dirty, I went to the counter and asked someone if they could come and clean it, I'm still waiting!

All this Place needs is someone with a little bit of insight and it could be really good! The clientele is clearly there, as this is the only place in the park

If only they had a little bit of pride in their workplace it...

It's not unpleasant, but also nothing great either. The gentleman who served us said little more than a few grunts but polite enough. The coffee we got was quick and cheap, not awful but not fantastic. The malteser cake was good. Nothing more or less than "good."

It's a place that does what it says it will, prices maybe a tad too high but not outrageous. I believe it to be more of a little community based cafe than an all star, spanking great big luxurious experience.

It's completely unfair to give it any hate from our experience, but equally as unjustified to say anything special. Possibly a waste of potential? But that's their buisness and I came away with no complaints, so who am...

So sad to see Millfield House continues to look run down and uninvited.

We had coffee (in plastic cups) and caramel slices X 2 which was £15!

Despite it being a beautiful day with loads of people milling around in the Dene it was empty.

The place looks scruffy with paint peeling off floors in eating space

The toilets were dirty with paint peeling off walls, hand dryer not working etc

This lovely building has so much potential to be a fab place to visit

I feel embarrassed that visitors to the area are met with this offering.

Newcastle city council really needs to get involved and make this the place to visit...
