@Monsieur Crepe is one of my favourite breakfast and brunch spots in Newcastle, and they are dog friendly! Where’s your favourite brunch? #monsieurcrepe #newcastle #eatnewcastle #fyp #breakfast #brunch #newcastlefood

What an amazing hidden gem! I absolutely love little finds like this. My best friend recommended this place and I think it’s safe to say it was one of the best recommendations! The menu is absolutely massive with such a huge variation of drinks and dishes to choose from, you are completely spoilt for choice! I ordered the Eggs Florentine in a crepe with smoked salmon, something I’ve never had nor seen anywhere else but it was incredibly delicious and made to perfection! (The only constructive criticism I would give is, please use bigger plates!) I would highly highly recommend this wonderful cafe, you will not be disappointed.

I've been to this cafe a fair few times and I really enjoy it. Inside is a little rustic and is a very cosy atmosphere. The food is great and relatively inexpensive and is on par with chain cafe's in terms of price. The cakes are very nice and I would absolutely recommend getting one The cafe also puts back into the local community which is a great idea. The cafe does get pretty busy though so if you want to be in and out, I'd recommend booking. There do seem to be a lot of young kids who go there with parents, so not sure how some people will feel about this. Would absolutely recommend this cafe and I'll continue to go!

Very disappointed with our latest visit. We called the day before to check we could bring our 12 week old puppy and explained he is too young to go on the floor. We were told Monsieur Crepe is very dog friendly, dogs are welcome inside and he would get plenty of attention. No mention was made of any rule about dogs having to be on the floor.

We arrived, were seated and ordered without any issue. Only after ordering and receiving drinks did another staff member loudly tell us the puppy had to be on the floor. When we informed her we had confirmed this in advance, she said she would need to check and went to speak with colleagues.

My husband then went to the counter explaining if it was an issue we would just leave as it was impossible for us to put him on the floor (our older dog was on the floor). Whilst he was there the staff member that had taken our order and served our drinks with no issue with our puppy being on my lap at that point in time stated there were signs everywhere about it. I hadn’t seen any signs at all - my husband said he saw one sign saying they couldn’t be on the furniture which we would never allow anyway. She then accused my husband of being condescending and abusive when he explained that the dog is clearly too little to be on the floor. This was in front of other customers.

We left immediately, our children upset, and a special trip was ruined. We had even ordered from the dog menu. Misleading information, poor communication and unprofessional handling means we will not return. Such a shame as I had been before and enjoyed the food but there’s no excuse for the way that was managed.

I also note a review from 4 months ago of a lady with 2 dogs on the chairs! Granted they are outside but had that been an option presented to us we would have taken it, it just felt like they wanted to be difficult with us...

My friend and I visited the Monsieur Crepe Cafe in the hope of eating in but unfortunately they had no available tables so we bought the food to take away as we really wanted to sample the pancake's.

Not being able to sit in wasn't a problem as it's a very small establishment which cater for a constant stream of happy customers and therefore available space is rarely unoccupied (in hindsight - we probably should have booked a table in advance). There was of course the option to sit outside if we really wanted to sit down and eat.

We purchased an American Pancake stack 🥞 and a Crepe .....

The crepe was beautifully presented (as was the American Pancake stack). Although I thoroughly enjoyed my crepe my friend struggled. I watched her dig at the American pancakes with a knife and fork for no less than 5 minutes (and she really was struggling). It's the first time I have ever witnessed such a struggle to slice through an American Pancake of any sort. There was nothing redeemable about the stack of pancake's so they went in the bin - which was a real shame ......

Overall, the food going out to the tables looked amazing and my own meal was lovely. The experience with the pancake's hasn't put us off visiting the Monsieur Crepe Cafe in the future.

Although it may have been a one-off, we wouldn't buy the American Pancakes again. It doesn't matter how amazing something looks, if it's inedible, it's a...

Popped in this morning with my dog for breakfast whilst the car was in for a service nearby. What can I say..... I received such a lovely warm welcome from the staff. Served by a lovely lady who kindly watched my dog whilst I popped to the toilet. I don't know why other people have left such negative reviews regarding the establishment not being dog friendly. This is definitely not the case. Yes dogs are to stay on the floor, I don't have a problem with this at all I would expect to see this in a place where people eat. The owner was friendly and welcoming and even stopped to chat which is rare these days. The menu choice is really good there is something for everyone. I ordered the big breakfast and it was absolutely delicious 10/10 excellent quality and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning. Thanks for such a...
