I agree with the other reviewers that this is an excellent cheese shop. But when I went this morning I was not at all happy with the service. Firstly I noticed the person who served me (not Moz who wasnât in the shop) biting her nails and then sneezing into her hand. She didnât wash her hands after either and then served me cheese with bare hands. This would be bad enough anytime but during a pandemic this is really poor. I should have refused there and then to take my order but I think my donât complain Britishness took over.
Iâve now to decide whether to ditch the cheese or just use it in cooking.
Well, I have to say Moz, the owner, responded brilliantly to my review. She got in touch and insisted on refunding AND replacing the cheese I bought. She also organised extra training for her staff. Which means Grate is now my favourite 5 star...

Located in the vibrant heart of a middle class neighbourhood, Grate provides top level cheese, nibbles and breads to an eclectic clientele. Moz (storekeeper and all round sound person) is knowledgeable, passionate and friendly and the love she has for her store is apparent from the exterior finish of the emporium. Payment can be made in a variety of ways adding to the convenience. There are good things in life - music, film and beers - and then there is cheese....
