The County — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

I had the pleasure of visiting The County on 12th December for a Christmas drink with a friend and felt compelled to share my positive experience.

We arrived around midday, and despite the pub having a decent number of patrons, it was manageable, creating a delightful and relaxed atmosphere. The ambience of the pub, with its wood panel walls, added a charming touch to the overall experience.

What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service provided by the bar staff. In particular, a tall gentleman with a large beard demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the extensive beer selection. His recommendations and insights made our afternoon all the more enjoyable.

The County is not just a pub; it's a gem for anyone seeking a welcoming environment, knowledgeable staff, and a diverse beer selection. I appreciated the attention to detail, including the wood panel walls that gave the pub a warm and inviting feel. I also enjoyed the presence of TV screens, which added a modern touch without compromising the traditional pub atmosphere.

If you still need to visit The County, I highly recommend it. My experience was fantastic, and I am confident that others will find it a lovely establishment for a great time...

An amazing and beautiful bar in the heart of Gosforth. A haven from the highstreet. Somewhere that can be both in reality and fiction in the same breath, like stepping off the train at platform 9 and 3 quarters and being able to ask and receive a delux pint of the finest ale or lager in a minutes notice, in the company of fellows whom also share a taste of the exquisit. Exceptional service from staff who appreciate the gentle stranger or the warm regular, who do their best to make your experience a happy one. This bar is a place out of time, and I'd happily spend a few good hours...

I've never had food here although I've tried to order a pizza before but seemed harder than it needed to be, I couldn't understand the girls accent don't think she was local. Seems like a lovely building staff seem professional atmosphere wasn't great, comes across like a bunch of lonely people trying to talk louder than anyone else in the there and at really busy times it's stinks.
