Nice atmosphere reminds me of As you like it in Sandyford likely owned by same company but who knows the interior decor gave that vibe. Food was average and portions standard. I went for the korean chicken burger the sauce was spot on. Waiter asks everything ok so I dont hold back some little token coleslaw i said could have been a little better - tiny some cuts of cabbage - my other half asked for hollumi as extra for her meal (supplement charge) and received 2 slithers of hollumi. I sound like a winging old man but im not whether the feedback was taken on board or not who knows when I told the waiter. There was a quiz on which was nice as I am all for some community vibes every Thursday it seems. Hats off to the quiz master she was trying hard to get the little crowd going. We met us with friends last night and chose here because we’d heard great things. The welcome we got was warm and friendly, the chap at the bar, even though he was very busy and a bit stressed because a card machine had gone down , was lovely. The food was all really delicious and we struggled to choose as there was so much we would have enjoyed. Sam our waitress was really lovely. Very efficient. It was very very busy and it was obviously some issues in the kitchen as we waited a long time for our food but when it’s explained and apologised for that is ok. The only down side was the woman on the till, I know she was stressed because of the equipment failure and a queue of people but she was rude to us and that is not acceptable. Staff should always stay polite so she may need a bit of training. I asked for water and she just glowered at me and didn’t point out the water which was right next to me for me to help myself. Firstly the look of the place is incredible. The way it has been decorated is fabulous, I really loved it and couldn't stop looking around. It was spotlessly clean including the toilets even though it was a busy Saturday when we visited, the staff were really on top of things. Service was really good. The food was lovely, all came out hot and every dish was really enjoyable. The music was great and at a great level and the temperature was spot on- not too hot and not too cold. When we visited I didn't realise it was a chain, I assumed it was a quirky little independent place, usually I avoid chains but this place gets it right so I'm glad I didn't realise otherwise I wouldn't have visited and would have missed out on this quirky and cool spot The price of the food and drinks is really reasonable especially for being in Gosforth.
