Would avoid this place if ever in Newcastle. It promotes a cheap cooked breakfast and it’s right across from the station, but please don’t be tempted.

Firstly, my full english was advertised to include black pudding, a black pudding which I never saw, and when I realised and asked about it the waitress mearly said ‘they should have told you we sold out when you ordered’. No sorry, no apologies, nothing - like it wasn’t a big deal at all.

Secondly, two of my friends both ordered beans on toast. When it arrived we couldn’t believe what they were trying to get away with, literally taking the piss out of their customers who have chosen to come in and pay for their service. One, un-buttered, piece of toast with maybe 1/4 of a can of beans on top. The beans also tasted old, like they had just been lying around the kitchen for a couple of days. We complained of course and she brought out two more which looked exactly the same. You can just tell when a place doesn’t care about what they serve, what people think or how they treat the people that keep them running!

The beans on toast were ÂŁ4.25 each...

Excellent range of drinks, and they take great care of their beer here - well conditioned and well poured. The food is pricier than similar premises, there is a good range for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Last time we ate here it was well presented, nice food which was good value, plenty on the plate. The food this time, however was awful, very poor value for food which looked like no care had really been paid to it. Garlic bread with grated cheese on which would have been lovely if it had been under the grill long enough for the cheese to melt, as it was it was cold and unpleasant. We shared nachos. Don't. Again, cold. Liquid cheese like you get in a cinema, generous servings of salsa, soured cream and guacamole, but very stingy on the jalapenos. I was actually left hungry despite paying ÂŁ8.95 for the dish. The atmosphere is friendly, music at a good volume, plenty of tables but not squashed together. It was, however very cold. The only patron not wearing an outside coat, despiteost of the 20 or so people in, was my other half who didn't have a...

Myself and my Wife held our wedding reception upstairs in Newcastle. This was the first wedding the venue had catered for in the Grainger and get carter rooms upstairs.. Ourselves and our guests were so impressed and the afternoon and evening was phenomenal. The staff were absolutely fantastic, so so accommodating and bent over backwards to assist us to make our lives easier. Our meal was outstanding and only received praise by all the guests so a massive thank you to the chefs.. We then had our evening reception and buffet. Everything went perfectly and myself and my Wife are so grateful to everyone involved.. Apologies if I miss anyone but staff Aaron, Jade, Laura and Dom really did an outstanding job, professional, polite and good characters. Jamie as manager has worked well with us throughout the whole process and again we can't thank enough. I can't give you all enough praise for a wonderful day and thank the staff involved for making our special day unforgettable and for them being a part of it! 100%...

A great old pub right in the heart of Newcastle City centre with a fantastic range of beverages to suit your palate. A great service with friendly staff in every capacity who are willing to help in anyway possible. The pub has a fantastic history - especially it's connection to the Classic British Gangster Film " Get Carter " starring Michael Caine with memorabilia adorning the wall's. Straight opposite the Central Station - a must visit while in the city .

Handily located pub for the station and arena. They had a discount for arena ticket holders on my visit which was good of them. Staff were all friendly, especially the bar man (Ollie) and the female manager (can't recall her name). Fairly good selection of ales available on cask and keg. Good choice of food available. Food was ok, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Well decorated and traditional feel.
