We had a booking for Sunday lunch to celebrate an 80th Birthday. We were met by a sign on the door saying 'kitchen closed', no phonecall to advise us, the girl at the bar said she'd called everyone, even more annoying when two of our party had travelled from Wiltshire. The girl at the bar couldn't give a toss, the only curt explanation was just that the chef hadn't turned up. Very unprofessional indeed. One gentleman who was having a drink followed us outside and directed us to Curro's, where we greeted by friendly staff and had a superb family lunch. Very poor. I visited this place for the first time on 22/02/2016 and ordered for two Irish coffees. One of the coffees cold and and the cream on the top was curdy. When I pointed this issue at the bar, the bar attender got me another one which was heated up in the microwave. The coffees were very disgustingly made and felt like drinking sugar syrup. Only had two sips as the drinks were disgusting and when I confronted this issue with the bar attender, instead of apologizing and coming up with a solution, he said "I will charge just for the coffee but not the alcohol in it " and charged me £4.60. A nice pub/restaurant, slightly hidden away. Went for a nice hot roast dinner on a wet bank holiday weekend and the food was nice, but not hot. I had a lovely slow cooked pork belly, others the beef and lamb. Apart from the side dishes everything was lukewarm. Dessert for my partner was apple pie, perhaps unusually served cold. I had sticky toffee pudding, which also was cold. We did asked the waitress if they're supposed to be cold and she said yes. My partner wasn't convinced apple pie is nice fridge cold and I definitely have never experienced cold sticky toffee pudding.
