Bambu — Restaurant in North Devon

We’ve been a couple of times and really enjoyed the drinks (especially the gin selection), the service and the space. But this evening the kitchen opened with a revised menu, and we ordered all of the starters as small plates. They were mostly seafood based) and we were blown away by the freshness, how well presented they were and how tasty each dish was The soft crab is a real winner, the shrimps with a touch of chilli great and the mushrooms were superb.

We shared the vegan curry. This dish was absolutely superb.

All washed down with a very good value Grenache rose.

Looking from outside you would be mistaken in thinking Bambu is cramped inside, it's actually deceptively spacious. We went for an evening meal and had a fantastic experience. Hands down the best food in Braunton since Bistro du Coin unfortunately closed. Breakfasts are hearty and high quality whilst the evening menu has something for everyone. It's been such a long time since I've eaten out in North Devon and experienced such consistently high levels of flavour, taste and presentation!
