For 3 months I worked in Braunton post office 3 days per week. Whilst working there Tina from the Argricultral Inn came to do her banking, on one such an occasion she said if my colleague or myself wanted to park in the pub carpark we should give her our car details, because they were installing an eye in the sky parking camera. As my husband picked me up from work I thought this was very kind and would be useful. So, I gave Tina our car details, I thought she was lovely. The next time she came into the post office she said she laughed whenever she saw my husband pull up outside the carpark and I jumped into the car, afterall she has our car details. My husband remained quite cynical, but eventually he did park in the carpark on a few occasions. As my colleague was leaving me alone for a couple of days she needed to show me how to cash up and lock up, this took a little extra time and on a couple of days my husband was in the carpark for about half an hour, before taking my colleague home and then driving us home. I was a little surprised when we received a letter with a fine for parking there, so I phoned Tina, she said not to worry but could we bring the letter in, this we did. Again Tina was very keen for us not to worry. It will be fine. Then, we received another letter with another fine! Again Tina wanted to see the letter, not for me to email it to her, so I took this one in to her, for us this is a 28 mile round trip. So, today my husband remained cynical and asked me to phone Tina to make sure she had sorted it. Tina has now told me she cannot sort it out afterall and we had better pay the fine!!!!!! So, £160 has now been paid, because of all Tina's assurances we missed the deadline for the first one and had to pay the full £100. I am so disappointed and my faith in people has been seriously diminished. It's such a shame, it was Tina's suggestion that we parked there at all, and we really didn't need to. I no longer work in Braunton (the 28 miles became too much), so the fine is all the more difficult for us to pay. It's such a shame. I feel so ripped off, I really do, why would you offer that we could park there and then allow us to get fined what would have been a whole week's wages. It...
Read moreDue to holiday traffic and a road accident had to change our plans. Last minute we decided to go to the Black horse, not expecting much, negotiated the narrow streets to get there, looked very nice, but no parking anywhere near. On the way we had past the Aggi, thought it was closed. However when we turned back onto the main road we noticed The Agricultural from the other side. Co pilot looked it up on trip advisor last review said better than expected ( I paraphrase). Anyway turned round and parked in their big car park. Sat outside so no idea what like inside. 2 pleasant young chaps served us. We both had pie of the day which was very good. 11 quid I think. Everything comes with chips and peas, so if that isn'tyour bag go somewhere else. As the person on trip advisor said, went in not expecting much, came out very satisfied. Even got a little kids swing bridge to play on. ( the kids not me). Only downer was they had run out of real beer (except Guinness) so had to have some of that bubbly continental stuff, which was ok as it was...
Read moreIf I could give more than 5 stars I would. On a small break with my husband and our dog and stopped in for dinner. Staff made us feel very welcome from the start. Our dog was welcomed so happily and fussed over which he absolutely loved. He loved his treats. Even had a dog menu (we opted for the roast dinner)!!! Food was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere although was a little quiet. Definitely a hidden gem. If we were staying longer in the area we would definitely come back on a regular basis. Can't fault it one bit. Would have stayed longer if our puppy didn't decide to have a meltdown (sorry anyone who...
