Hi, I found this establishment purely by chance when I asked a local in a local supermarket car park, where the best fish and chips are in the area and he directed me to Squires at Braunton. He said they were open all day and they have a very convenient car park opposite. He said that if this car park was full then Squires have won at the rear. This would be perfect for me as I was in a motorhome and would find difficulty parking a large vehicle. But the car park opposite was very accessible and convenient and right in the centre of town at £2 for 3 hours. He also told me that they would be open all day I didn't close at 2:00 p.m. Squires have two shops side by side, the main kitchen area and takeaway section. It has a large restaurant adjacent which was very full at 4:00 oclock. The staff were very helpful when I ordered two cod and chips and curry sauce for £24. They even provided batter bits, locally known as squibbles which I have never heard of before. They have three fish size options small, medium or large and we had the medium which were quite large and more than adequate for our elderly appetites. The chips were not quite to our liking as there were quite large and fat and we much prefer the smaller crispy ones. The fish that was excellent with the batter very crispy and no soggy bits. All round it was a pleasant meal and more than enough to satisfy our appetites. We didn't have to wait long for our order and it was presented in a brown paper carrier bag with a very friendly smile and enjoy your meal. I would certainly recommend this establishment for your fish and chips and if we are ever in the area again we shall certainly purchase more. Enjoy.
