Very friendly customer service. Someone placed 28 orders before us and I must say, we got ours pretty sharpish. We came here in the same hour after getting white baits from The Harbour Shed. Which was atrocious by the way in portion size and customer service. It was so bad there we thought we would get white baits here coz it was about 3 mouthfuls only. Esplanade on the other hand d exceeded our expectations. Good portion size and 25p cheaper than The Harbour Shed. The portion is 5-6 times more as well. See pics for comparison. I would say that the portion size for Esplanade is normal but the Harbour Shed….? I don’t know what the heck they were playing at. Boxes are the same size by the way. When in Lynton and you fancy white baits for snacks, go to Esplanade! Definitely don’t go to Harbour Shed. Well done Esplanade for your fresh tasting white baits, great customer service and reasonable pricing. 😊

Called in here for fish n chips as we were reliably informed these were the best in the area. We certainly weren’t disappointed! There was a large queue outside which is always a good sign you’re in the right place! We wanted to eat inside so put one person in the queue, the rest of us went to secure some tables in the rear where the seating area is. The menu is standard fish n chip bar menu with some decent seating indoors if you don’t want to take away. I had the chips which were amazing, not too greasy and very tasty! A fish cake which was also top quality and a jumbo sausage which again was very good. Based on this experience I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, despite being really busy service was fast and the place was clean and tidy.

I have eaten at award winning fish & chip shops across the south west, Torquay, Woolacoombe etc, and these were by far the BEST FISH AND CHIPS I have ever had. It was all cooked to order rather than being sat on a shelf waiting to be bought. First of all the portion size was perfect. (Too many places give you far too many chips, that are often stodgey) the fish was fresh tasting, and lovely texture and the batter was light, but still crispy. I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips, but honestly this was amazing. Especially tasty after doing the valley of rocks walk and being extra hungry 😁

We stopped for some cod and chips here today after a hike up the gorge. The cod was best I have had. I don't usually eat the batter I find it oily and bland, however, theirs is cooked in peanut and vegetable oil. It was so crispy while the fish inside was juicy and just melted in the mouth, i couldn't get enough. The staff were lovely and friendly as we're all the other customers all chatting away and giving visit recommendations. Fish and chips on the beach levels up at this place, the scenery is outstanding.

What a fantastic little chippy. We found ourselves in Lynmouth for the first time on a wet Good Friday and we’re looking for something to eat. Everyone had resigned themselves to chips on a wet bench. When we ordered we noticed some seating at the back of the shop which was dog friendly. It was super clean and comfortable. We had some of the best fish and chips we have ever tasted and hands down the best chip shop curry sauce ever. The staff were just lovely too. What a great little find.

Now in my top 5 fish and chips in the UK. Firstly, we are in, and the eating area was very clean, spotless, that's a big plus for a chippy. Secondly the food, wow, so nice! Everything was slightly tastier than than you could expect. Curry sauce was delicious, slight fruitiness to it, battered sausage wasn't your average batter, it was super nice, Mac and cheese bites.. well... find out for yourself! All in a pleasant seating area supplied by friendly efficient staff!
