G & T's Burgers — Restaurant in North Devon

I’m going to start this mammoth review by saying that, as Londoners, my family and I are used to having to pay silly money for a good burger or hotdog and even then they’re usually still a little disappointing. G&T’s put London burger joints to shame!

Customer service is impeccable and makes the restaurant’s friendly atmosphere. We called to book a table, couldn’t get through (we understood why when we tried the food) but got a call back 5 minutes later with an apology and a reservation option! A call back when we didn’t even leave a message! Unheard of! Even our friends don’t do that!

Now for the food. Oh. My. God! Not a drop of grease in sight, the pulled pork is heavenly, the burgers would fetch £15-£18 in London and the portion sizes were generous enough that we took a box home to continue demolishing while watching a movie. Faultless! So good in fact, that we’re returning before we head home, so we can try more of the menu.

Illfracombe is not high up un my list of fav food towns but nothing in my many years of culinary experiences has been as bad a this place.(perhaps the gone off kebab i had near sidmouth was on par) If your used to deep fried cheap iceland style produce covered in cheap cheese and bargain bbq sauce you may like it but if you have higher standards please save yourself the suffering. This may sound cruel but i honestly felt like i paid for someone to violate my insides after i ate here. I went immediately to the local shop to drink 2 yoghurts to dampen the blow. This place is awful! The ingridients were cheap, the burger meat was one of those hockey puck looking things that are boiled. The chips were soggy and undercooked. It's so expensive for the quality and amount you get. I honestly am very suspicious this place has so many positive reviews. I have two other friends who also experienced awful food.
