The white lion Braunton — Restaurant in North Devon

Decided to give this lovely looking pub a chance. Despite being told otherwise by some of the locals. So popped in on a Saturday night with the intention of having food and drinks. The pub seemed fairly busy. It must have been a youth club night or someone’s 18th birthday as there were a lot of younger people in the pub. When we arrived we went to the bar to order our drinks and and ask for a menu. We were told by the very young barmaid that the kitchen was closed and she was the only staff member on-site. 3 cask ales. Great tasty food. Staff are very welcoming and a good atmosphere. Even has a selection of games. Traditional pub with a traditional menu. Scampi and chips one of the best I've had in a long time. Recommended. Only one negative thing is it's not really accessible. Apart from that brilliant.

Back again in August 2024 and continues to be a brilliant pub for food and drink. An added bonus tonight (every Thursday) live music with an open mic and plenty of local talent to enjoy. In Braunton in a rented house with our large family for the week in the May half term, after ringing other pubs in the area none were serving food (even though they advertised in the high street) apart from 1 who had a curry night on, we called the white lion, told us to come down, the menu was basic but the food was outstanding as were the drinks, the staff were polite and outgoing, we all enjoyed our time there, and would recommend this place, no frills here, but just good value for money and exallent customer...
