Booked here on the recommendation of my brother and his wife who live in Lynton; they actually came with us which was great. The restaurant is not dog friendly, during our visit we saw at least 2 groups of people turned away because they have dogs so be aware of that. There is no parking for the restaurant however Lynton has a variety of large car parks available which you can pay for through the app Ringo. On entering the restaurant itself we were warmly welcomed and seated, we received a Lindor chocolate on arrival which was a great touch! The menu is well presented with the different cuts of meat explained but if you do have any questions just ask the friendly staff who are clearly experts and very happy to help. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but when you sample the quality of the food which is of the highest order I’m sure you will appreciate that quality of this magnitude comes at a slightly higher price. They have a large variety of differing cuts of steak as well as some fish dishes and a non meat option should you require that. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium rare, one of the best steaks I have ever eaten! Proper melt in your mouth and so tasty! I added the standard fries, roasted carrots and seasonal greens as well as peppercorn sauce. The food was all simply amazing! What we didn’t expect was to receive the most amazing sweet potato and chilli soup while we waited for our mains as a compliment from the chef! For dessert I had the chocolate delicious or something similarly named for dessert, again absolutely amazing! Also the presentation was out of this world, see my video as part of this review. All through our experience the staff were simply amazing, the food was glorious and the establishment itself was very aesthetically pleasing. Based on this experience I think you’d be mad not to get a table here. I certainly aim to visit again.

WOW BLOODY WOW! What an incredible visit to The Old Bank, my partner and I were away for a mini break weekend in September, (yes it’s taken me a while to write this review) and were struggling to find restaurants suggestions until we stumbled upon The Old Bank, and let me tell you the food was exceptional, the service exceptional the atmosphere exceptional…. It was so good we went back! Twice in one weekend. Liam, Matt and their team are absolutely awesome, the customer service was fantastic, and we couldn’t believe that on our second visit to The Old Bank on the Sunday we were the only ones in the restaurant at lunch time… but we weren’t complaining as the team gave us what felt like a private dining experience and it was so lovely, every thing was thought out with every inch of detail. This restaurant was truly one our highlights of our weekend- if you are ever in Lynmouth/Lynton The Old Bank is a MUST!

One of the nicest meals I've had in a while. There was a bit of a hiccup with the booking time just down to a bit of human error but otherwise perfect. Food was brought out quickly and perfectly cooked. I had the flat iron steak which was moist and very tasty, the additional peppercorn sauce is worth every penny. The chocolate brownie desert wasn't too rich and overpowering but a great blend of flavours. We were lucky enough to be able to keep our table and enjoy some more drinks to round the evening off. Would highly recommend but make sure to book in advance as it's not a huge place and is obviously popular.

Wow. This place is a true gem. It was our first time in North Devon (we normally do South) and we were staying in the Blue Ball Inn just outside of Lynton. It was our last night and we wanted to go out with a bit of a bang and we did!

This place was a real find. Lovely calm atmosphere with I think 8 tables total? Which leads to quite a personalized feel whilst dining there. The concept is small plates, I LOVE this idea as I never know what to have and normally find multiple choices on a menu (this way I could try them all). Although described as 'small plates' they were extremely generous size a total of 6 plates was more than enough for me and my partner. The food itself was gorgeous. Different, but not pretentious.

The service was excellent, if was like going to a friend's for dinner. At one point we had ran out of jug water and before the last drop had left the jug into our glasses, a lovely young lady was there to give us a new, full jug. You just don't get get that level of service anymore and it shows how attentive the staff really are.

The value shocked us both. Me and my partner always play the guessing game after a meal out and I guessed it would be around the £100. That's how we rated the food. It came to just over half of that. Although we don't drink so this may have helped a little. But seriously such good value for money for the quality you are getting all round.

Another great quality is Although the feel and look of the place is more up market I did t feel out of place in leggings and a hoodie. I had packed light for our get away and I felt at first that we may get turned away or have some noses turned up at what we were wearing, but not at all!

This place really is worth a visit. It's such a shame we are not locals. But I can say for certain we...
