Lovely visit to this little local pub. Great atmosphere and great service. We went on Tandoori night which was provided by Lynton Tandorri and was a lovely curry. Recommended.

Real friendly pub and a real pub to boot, no pretentious nonsense, good selection of drinks, cracking jukebox, friendly locals, what more do you want? It’s also dog friendly

I popped in for a pint having spent the day at the Classic Car Show. I asked if I could pay with a £20 note, knowing that some pubs don’t take cash anymore. What I got in reply from presumably the Landlord/manager, was sarcastic comments about how “we’ve never seen a £20 note in the West Country before” (I’m from Ilfracombe, half an hours drive away.) With his thick cockney accent, I wonder what part of the West Country he’s from?! He then short changed me and joked about putting the pound in the tips jar. He might have been ‘showing off’ to a couple of locals sat at the bar but having worked in hospitality myself, his attitude stank! There is a reason his pub was empty on what should have been the busiest day of the year for him. Don’t bother, there are far more welcoming pubs down the hill...

Horrendous reception. The miserable bar man shouted "MASK!" at us once we opened the door. Even though it is not a legal requirement to wear one we would have put our masks on if he'd asked politely. We simply turnt around and found another pub called the Crown which had a great bar and extremely polite staff. My friend called earlier in the day to ask if we needed to book a table at the Queens and received a rude and blunt reply of "for what? It's a shame that establishments like this can continue operating without an ounce of customer service and politeness, places like this don't deserve to carry on when so many gold businesses have had to closed die to...

Came in for a quick drink with friends after a lovely day in Lynton and Lynmouth. Warm welcome from the chap behind the bar and courtyard was full of locals celebrating a birthday, which was fun. Didn't have anything to eat. BUT I stupidly left my wallet behind and didn't notice til the next day. As a Londoner, I assumed it was gone but thought it worth a call to check. I was delighted to hear that it was safely behind the bar: collected it that evening with absolutely everything intact. Cannot tell you how grateful I was, and how chuffed that people had been so...
