My experience was so different to other reviews and difficult for me to sum up. It wasn't busy when we arrived but it seemed a bit short staffed and especially as it ended up almost full. I think the kitchen rushed the food (even though it was a long wait), so the pizza was very doughy. But the main fault was the Serrano pizza was actually Pepperoni and even written as such on the bill (despite not an option on the menu). I ate the pizza as hunger overwhelmed us, we had waited long enough to be served and it wasn't inedible, just not a good pizza. The curry wasn't a good curry. But there was no one to complain to, the staff flitted in and out with food orders. The man on the counter seemed to have a teenager helping out with drinks, but when I eventually paid, he was sorting out a take away pizza, had cake tongs in one hand, shuffling drinks orders with another and trying to give me change. We didn't actually speak, he didn't ask how my meal was and he was turning away other guests who were asking...

Popped in as we are down in Lynton for a 2 day break.

Weather not ideal so initially popped in for a coffee, wife had an orange juice.

They had the Kings Coronation on the TV in the background for staff and customers.

The atmosphere was very good, the staff friendly polite and helpful and at times very amusing which was great to see.

We liked it so much we stayed for a 2nd drink, this time 2 coffees, a slice of carrot cake, an Americano and an Apricot Flapjack.

I have to say the coffee (latte) was excellent as were both cakes. I would have taken photos but they didn't stay on the plate long. We have been to Lynton many times and first time we have popped in as we generally use the CliffTop Railway but the service and food would make me return here on our next visit in August.

Highly recommend, lovely place you won't be...

Have been here a couple of times while on holiday and it’s lovely. This time, however, we ordered 3 iced coffees and a slice of coffee and walnut cake - when I got back to the table I realised I’d been over charged, not by a huge amount but still overcharged so I queried it and was told the price on the menu was wrong. No apology, no return of the over payment, just that the price was wrong. As it wasn’t a huge amount I didn’t make a fuss. Cake then arrived and it was carrot cake not what I ordered so I returned it, but again not even a simple sorry. Disappointed and probably won’t return. I realise it’s not a big deal but I always thought you had to honour the price that was displayed. And a simple sorry...

We had visited the Valley of Rocks tourist site and walked back to Lynton along the coastal path. We had visited Lynton a couple of days previously and had eaten lunch at The Vanilla Pod but fancied some traditional fish and chips: we plumped for The Greenhouse and the meal didn't disappoint. The batter was light, crispy and had a slight hint of cider (not overpowering at all and really nicely done) and the fish was piping-hot. Service was friendly and swift and we had a jar of ginger beer to accompany our food. The drinks were ice-cold with plenty of ice, served in a nice big jar. They even had some toe-tapping music playing through the PA system too (a good mix of 60's and 70's classics).

We stopped here on a whim having spent a little time in Lynton. We were after some simple dinner. We were welcomed in by friendly staff right away and we ordered drinks to start. The food was really good overall with a good general selection. I enjoyed a chicken burger and others had fish and chips and a pizza. All of the food was delicious but the chocolate brownie with custard for dessert was unbelievable. Easily the best brownie I have ever had. It was light, gooey and downright delicious. The atmosphere was really interesting and pleasant to look at. Prices were quite reasonable. Overall we enjoyed our evening.
