STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!

We saw all the good comments on google so we went! But felt more like a tourist trap!

Had the supreme seafood platter for two (£49.xx) and half dozen of Rock oyster (£16.xx)

The half lobster and the crab was good. But apart from that the oyster wasnt great i guess just not at the right season. Its july when we went.

But the most disappointing thing is the platter, on one side of the dish you could badly taste the (cleaning spray all over it, you literally felt like you are eating the detergent or sort which was extremely horrible); we reported to the lady there and we were the only customer there and the instant response we got was “we don’t know anything about it” while she was the only person there serving!

So to conclude, we didn’t even get an apologise, and nothing were done! So we just left with half of the dish left! (Despite this is a family run business and we saw the owner just walking around) but still nothing were put in action, no feedback whatsoever)

Whenever we visit Ilfracombe we always make sure to eat at S & P, we've been visiting for many years and the seafood is always good. This experience was even better though as it appears the menu had been revamped. We had the smaller of the seafood platters which came with half a lobster, a dressed crab, mackerel fillets, smoked salmon, shell on prawns, crevettes, de-shelled prawns, mussels, cockels, crayfish tails and whelks along with salad, dips and bread and butter. The fish was delicious and the portion size was good.

The seating area is also dog friendly and the staff made a fuss over our giant breed dog and made sure he had water and treats.

The only downside was the whelks were a bit small and flavourless but apart from that the rest of the food...

BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES! Food was just ok. Service was friendly. It was a special birthday lunch and when booking I asked if I could bring a bottle of French champagne & pay corkage. The girl said “yes no problem, we can sort something out”. We requested the bill, waitress did not give us a bill, she arrived at the table with the card machine and told us the amount. My husband paid with card however it seemed more than expected. I asked to see a breakdown of the total and could not believe I had been charged £22.50 CORKAGE!!! I questioned this and was told it was charged according to the cost of the bottle I had brought in. Ripped off on my birthday -...
