Went for dinner here recently. The restaurant is clean and looks good. Atmosphere is nice and tables well spaced. Staff were welcoming and accomodating, especially as we hadn't booked a table.

Unfortunately it went seriously even dangerously wrong with the food...

When ordering tapas we let the server know that I have an allergy. They provided their allery menu, showing which dishes are safe for various allergies (great!). So we ordered appropriately and repeated the allergy.

When our food came out it looked good BUT we ourselves spotted that half the dishes had been covered in what Im allergic to. Fortunately I ate very little before we realised.

This is really careless and potentially dangerous for allergy sufferers, as well as causing problems for those with intolerances / enforced dietary restrictions. Fortunately my allergy doesn't cause anaphylaxis, so it wasn't life threatening in this case, but mistakes like this could have serious implications.

They replaced the dishes/plate/cutlery and were apologetic, but honestly it was obvious that they didn't grasp how serious this sort of thing could be for others. There was no offer of a discount or a refund on our bill; not that I expect things for free, but maybe for a couple of the affected dishes as a gesture.

I had to travel home via train afterwards whilst having an allergic reaction and it took about 24 hours to recover fully. Not fun. So I won't be returning here ever again because I just can't risk this happening. And obviously I cannot recommend to anyone with any allergies or dietary requirements. If you go here and any of your party have any such concerns, be seriously careful. This really isn't good...

Went last week with my girlfriend, first time for nearly two years because of covid. We had been here a few times and wanted to take her twins here to celebrate their 21st and their girlfriends came with them Covid rules were followed.

Me and my girlfirend love their tapas especially spanakopitta along with their pitta and dips. We always choose around 4 or 5 different ones as we like trying a few different dishes along with a bottle of wine. Bottle of wine we wanted was not available but the waiter reccomended another bottle they had which was nice we girlfriend and one of the twins girlfriends had no problem finishing but they can't remember the name

Mains my girlfriend loves their lamb souvlaki but she can only manage a tapas portion rather than a mains portion. I love their chicken shishlik. One of the girls had azita beef burger which looked nice.

Their sibzameni which is hand cut chips were delicious best I have had as they were not greasy and crispy outside while fluffy and light in the middle. I'm glad I ordered two portions as everyone seem to like them.

I don't really write reviews but during these tough times I wanted to write a review because they are independent, very friendly with great service and amazing food while the cost i I thought was reasonable. Hopefully with restrictions slowly lifting we can go here once a month as it makes a great date night and maybe next time they will have remy martin...

I’ve been living in Hitchin for 2 years now and I’ve only just decided to visit Bar Azita to try out their Mediterranean food and honestly I think I’ve found my new favourite spot in town. I’m very upset that I didn’t take any pictures, as I won’t have any proof to back up my review!! My boyfriend and I didn’t book a table but we were offered to sit at the bar, which was very comfortable and we didn’t feel like we were in the way - especially as it was a Saturday night. We shared the Para Compartir, which is a set menu for 2, and the portions were crazy huge! I definitely recommend the Parillada de Pescado, especially if you love fish. It was tasty, fresh and filling! The starters were fantastic, in fact, it was so big that I thought it was partially the main too, it was a nice surprise when I realised that it wasn’t! Then to top it off, we had churros for dessert, which was the perfect light dessert after having such a great starter and main! And also, who doesn’t like churros?!

The staff were amazing and provided 10/10 customer service, especially the beautiful bartender, I didn’t catch her name, but she’s Canadian and she really knows the menu well as she was recommending us things that she had thought would be great to try!

Overall, this place has my heart. I really recommend it if you’re going out with friends or having a little date with your loved ones. Such a beautiful place and I’m glad that...

Very sad to be giving such a low score.. we have been so excited to try this restaurant for months now and finally managed to get a reservation and try it. Our expectations were really high. The cocktails were extraordinary and delicious. Service was excellent. The starters were quite nice, but the main course of a sea food platter was extremely disappointing. Expected it to be a grilled Mediterranean style, instead every single item on the platter was battered and deep fried. Dry and rubbery, very heavy and rich. It really was not nice. Won’t be rushing back.. except for the cocktails!

Went tonight for a date night birthday meal and it was so lovely. Such a cute restaurant with lovely staff. Called earlier in the day to arrange a nice birthday treat as well and they were super accommodating with this. The food is delicious and such lovely presentation with so much to choose from! Recommend the potatosalata which is probably the best potato salad I’ve ever tried as well as the meat sharing platters and the lamb kofta! Also handy because we parked at St Mary’s car park which was only a 6 min walk away and free after 6pm on a Monday.

We ordered the Taramasalata, Halloumi, Berenjenas con miel de caña (aubergine and sugar cane), Cretan Cheese Pies (feta in filo pastry with honey), Patatas Bravas, Boquerones (deep fried whitebait), Croquette and pitta. The croquettes were very luxurious, the whitebait were large and a hearty portion. The feta in filo was the star of the show, crispy creamy a little sour with a hint of sweetness from the honey. The aubergine was nice something a little different. I was a little let down by the Patatas Bravas I wish they had been more crispy.
