It has been some time since I last went to dragon king because of Covid and various reasons. However a couple of weeks ago I went there with my sister. Initially we wanted to order a take out so We were given small lunch boxes and I was made to pay before we selected our food, which was fine I paid for the take out boxes in full (although the prices in the restaurant are more expensive than whatâs advertised on the website). But then we opted to dine in instead. Everything was fine until we decided to dine in. The gentleman spoke to us like we were children, and seemed bothered by us changing our minds, he ushered us back to the door to do track and trace which was fine, we understood that we had to do that. He then quite loudly in front of all the other customers took us right to the food stations and started explaining how we should get the food (even though we had told him that we had been there before). He demanded that we start from the side that he said and told us the order in which to get our food (which he didnât do for any other customer). When he finally let us just freely choose our food and sit at the table everything seemed okay, we started to eat our food which was quite average and cold; and as we were eating the gentleman returned and insisted that we pay for the rest of our meals before we even finished.It was at this point that I got quite offended - we had already paid for the majority of the meal because we thought we were getting take out, and the outstanding balance was far less; and having been to dragon king numerous times before we knew that we are supposed to pay our bill right at the end; additionally none of the other Caucasian customers had to pay for their meals before they finished they were just shown to their tables and allowed to eat freely.
Iâm not sure if they thought we were going to run away without paying (I donât know how we would have done that though), but also we had already paid the vast majority so we clearly had the money to pay for the rest.
Anyway overall service was very poor, the food was lukewarm to cold and there wasnât much variety. I think itâs definitely gone downhill and I will not be wasting my money...

My 13 year old daughter has just been treated appallingly by the staff in this establishment this evening whilst attending a 14th birthday party group. My daughter and another girl do-not eat Chinese cuisine -, however, they wished to go for the "party" event. When she advised the staff that she only wished to purchase a drink, she was made to feel awkward by way of an unpleasant look from the waitress; the same response was given to the other child when she too asked for only a drink. They were then made to leave the party table (where they were already seated with their friends) because they were not eating and forced to sit at a separate table away from their friends- they might as well not have been there as far as the party went and were clearly unwelcome by the staff. My daughter also said that she was aware that staff kept checking that they were not eating!! I called and complained to the manager who could see no fault in treating two 13 year olds like this. She said they were moved because it was easier for the staff to then know who wasn't eating; I advised that it should not be too difficult for staff to see who wasn't eating by the fact they did not have any food. I also advised that my daughter felt that staff kept checking that they weren't eating (or in other words stealing food). The manager denied her staff would do this but then contradicted herself by saying some children say they aren't eating then go on to eat so they have to watch them. It would appear then that this establishment has a policy to consider that children who say they are not eating should be observed for criminal activity! The manager offered no apology for the way in which my daughter and her friend were treated.    Read moreUnder new management, staff don't understand anything you say to them, there very rude along with it, the website isn't working, there's no available information about the social distancing rule prior to arrival, I'm personally exempt from putting on a mask and apon showing them my exemption certificate on my phone the man physically grabbed me and told me that isn't good enough and that I have to have the printed version and put it on so as everyone can see it.... When I told him that's not how it works he told me I have to put a mask on and just put it over my chin and not actually put it on properly so as to make everyone else there happy, I've never heard anything so rediculess in my life! Also any food that had been deep fried was horrible, all you can taste is dirty oil, there was no table service, no one came to see if we wanted more drinks, we had to go to the bar everytime to ask for more, no one came to check if the food was ok either, staff all stayed by the front door so far away that no one could even get there attention, when it came to paying we had to leave our table to go and pay and they told us the price and refused to show us our bill so we don't even know of we payed for the correct meals and drinks, bare in mind it was an extremely high amount, there is also nowhere that it states how much it is per person for the buffet.....
