Went for a dinner few nights ago and we ordered Indian chicken jalfrezi meal and fried halloumi burger. The food was atrocious. The waitress only bothered to tell us AFTER we had paid for it that the Indian food was reheat and eat. Served cold, no taste, sweet, chewy rice, laced with oil popadums! My burger was the smallest burger you'd imagine without any sauces, just the halloumi between the buns. The soft drinks were given to us before our food, which went flat, as soon as they'd arrived. For what we paid, you'd expect half a decent meal. Atmosphere was ok-ish for a weekday. Had a lady talking loudly on a video call behind us and other folk also being boisterous. I wouldn't return and that food should be binned than served to customers.

The Spoons was fine. The experience was good and it is important to mention the food was better in comparison to other Spoons I have been to. The drinks were served quickly and the staff were polite which was appreciated and the Korean fried chicken bowl had an excellent amount of whichever sauce they put on the food whereas other Spoons I have been to have lacked in this area before. Atmosphere was as you’d expect, no issues apart from the burger being slightly dry and mediocre but at the end of the day what can you expect for the price.

Nice little pub in the centre of the town. It like many of the Wetherspoon pubs is an old converted shop and there are various photos of it in it's past life. There's parking close by but prices vary from free on street, if you can find a space to expensive (compared to other local towns) in the town hall car park. Great range of beers and various local historical stories and pictures, including the eccentric squire. Worth a visit during shopping trips to the town.

Barstaff are always friendly, there seems to be a very positive attitude behind the bar that is not always present in parts of the rest of the pub. Sometimes the bar gets overrun as it's a busy place so there could be a wait involved. You could be standing there without a drink for ten minutes. I'm not very patient, especially when waiting to give someone money. I guess this is the price you pay for getting things so cheap.

There is often a good mix of ale sometimes featuring US craft beers and a proper IPA. Full marks to them for having proper IPA. Any brewer calling a beer IPA that is below 5.5% alc, isn't pale or heavily hopped should be done on trade descriptions. The beer seems to be kept well as a very nice pint can be had but it might just be down to the rate at which beer is being squirted through the tubes. My only complaint is that often the beer I want is shown on the pumps but when I ask for it I'm told it's "Not on".

The quality of food has improved in recent years. It's still freezer to deep fat fryer fare but it's more than edible and in terms of value for money is unbeatable. Choose whatever is on offer that day and two people can eat a meal with alcoholic drinks for about £11.

It gets loud and lively on a Friday and Saturday night but it's a town centre pub distibuting huge quantities of cheap booze, not the Sistine Chapel. What...

Normally have great service here. Table was as usual super sticky. Not an issue as we always bring antibacterial surface wipes. Wasn't overly busy as 2pm on a Tuesday. Order spicy half chicken for me and cheese jacket for missus. Coffee for missus and mixed berry cider for me. 10 mins later we got our drinks slapped on the the table with barely a grunt. 10 mins after that grunter comes back and slaps a refund receipt on the table and says no chicken so we've refunded. Money will be back in your account in 3 to 5 days. Re order if you want something different. So they refunded the chicken. So order a burger for me missus tator still paid for so assume that's on its way and a pudding for my son. 10 mins after that my burger turns up and sons pudding. Still no tator. So ask the nice waitress about the spud. Few minutes pass and we still none the wiser so wife goes to bar only to be told you didn't reorder it. So wifey says it wasn't refunded so assumed it was still on order. Then the penny drops that they have cancelled whole order but only refunded my chicken. Was actually funny how bad the service was. Then they sent me the wrong drink . Not...

Appalling customer service. Not a friendly environment. One staff member in particular was very rude to a group member I was with. Grabbed/snatched a drink from his hand and shunted with a very rude and aggressive tone. The member of staff was an older man with glasses and wearing a front camera attached. The interaction that this was over he will know but having gone to many other Spoons. I’ve never seen such behaviour from what looks like a senior member of staff. Other customers in the pub at the time were just as disgusted as we were with what happened. Food came out whilst my group member was away and we asked for them to put it back under the grill till he comes back. It came back out stone cold with the same member of staff still giving a cold & rude tone as to say ‘well tough I put it under the light’. Overall shocking experience and terrible...
