Lost the magic :(
Im not sure what happened to Fabios since moving stores (Hitchin), but the atmosphere and customer service used to be amazing and now its gone downhill. There used to be a tall young lady at the old shop who kept the shop running great and even in the busy height of summer the environment was just the beautifully happy and energetic .
The new place has some good new faces but the new "manager" who must have reminded her staff that she was about six times whilst I was in there has no idea what she's doing, the customer service was uncomfortable and a bit all over the place.
Im not sure why the flavours have gone from a huge selection to a mere few either BUT credit where credit is due the coffee and cake were incredible, a young lad in there made a perfect coffee and served it with a smile and some really good chat the last time I went in but sadly the awkward atmosphere is a just bit much during the weeks.
I would love to see them take a step back to the way it was a year ago, or take some of the attitude they have from the Letchworth store and incorporate that into Hitchin as the curly haired lady in that shop has it down to perfection.
Ive given a three star because I know the owners love the shop and genuinely put there heart and soul into the place, but to put it simply again its just lost the magic that used to be Fabios.
Bring back the old team guys.
Make Fabios great again, you...
Read moreI have been to Fabios several times!! Not as much as I would like as with 4 children going out it a huge treat for us. Their flavours and quality are just outstanding!! My son loves the Bubblegum flavour and my personal favourite is coffee! The waffles are delicious and are great to have on your own or to share!! I have seen a few reviews of people not happy with the price or the heat!! Really? Firstly, they make the gelato themselves!!!! All of it! I think it’s priced wonderfully considering the quality and effort that goes into it and the prices also match surrounding coffee shops and cafes so I wouldn’t say it was expensive at all. As for the heat, i think it’s quite outrageous to blame the heat from the sun on a gelato shop! What more of a perfect place to buy something to cool you down! We should all be thanking them! So make sure you ignore the silly comments on here and go and taste those flavours from a small family run local business that is loved by everyone I know! In fact, I have full on talked myself into walking to town tomorrow with the kiddies and grabbing myself one or two or three scoops!!! I think a treat is needed and I can’t think of anywhere better to be honest....
Read moreWell firstly I can’t say a bad word about the ice cream. As it was absolutely lovely. But as far as customer service goes. We had the worst experience here tonight. We arrived at 8:30pm. With my 5 year old son and my 7 year daughter. And placed our order with a young very polite gentlemen. Who was brilliant. Once our order had been taken. From what i believe is the shops manger. A very rude woman!! Told us we couldn’t sit down as she had already cleaned the tables. Yet you close at 9:00pm. Fair enough this understandable. It’s Friday night you want to get home. Although there was another two tables still eating. Once we received our order. We were about to leave. And my 5 year old son. Asked to use the Toilet. The very polite man, explained where it was and off we went. After we came out of the toilet. We was confronted , by this very rude woman!! Who tutted at us. And said how we shouldn’t have used the toilets as she just cleaned them!! We we’re made to feel very unwelcomed. Moral of the story. Close at 8:30pm so you don’t have this problem again once you’ve cleaned up. And teach some of your rude staff some customer service skills. Absolutely shocking. And won’t be...
