What can I say apart from OMG what happened !! On 16.12.2021 We decided to pop into the Ban Thai Restaurant as we have had a meal there before and it was so so nice. We were shown to our table by a lovely gentleman , we ordered soup which came out super fast and was quite nice. Our main meal was Thai Red (Beef) 1 portion of rice and 1 portion of beansprouts which also came out relatively quickly, For myself I thought it was the worste Thai Red Curry I have ever had , far too salty for my liking my partner said it was nice so he ate my portion aslwell. We found the boiled rice a little sticky and the beansprouts not quite cooked . Now I always believed in giving constructive criticism Good or Bad so when the young lady came to clear our table and asked was everything OK I said I found my meal too salty but my partner said he enjoyed his so he ate mine aswell, then my partner said we should have ordered 2 rice it would have been better but that wouldn't have take the fact away that for me it was far too salty. The young lady apologised and went off to the kitchen and came back and said next time we're in they would make it right or words to that effect but I said we would not be back as we do not live in Cromer. A few moments later the cook came out and asked which meal wasn't right and I explained mine wasn't ! At that point she started talking about the price of yasmin rice and I we go to the Indian up the road its no cheaper. He voice was getting louder clearly not happy about my criticism so i asked to speak to the manager as I was getting upset the way she was talking to me she replied I am the owner then said " I have met your kind of people before " at that point she turned and walked to another table of customers for support asking them if they were served small portions of rice and was there meals salty which they were very sympathetic and said no their meals were nice, she told them I had complained about the food but our plates were emptied ( as I said my partner ate mine as I could not due to the amount of salt ). I was feeling very intimidated at this point so I put my coat on and as I passed there table I apologised that they had been involved in this discussion and wished then a Happy Christmas walked away towards the till point where I asked a nice gentleman for our bill and once again the " owner/cook came at my with raised voice making comments about me not having enough money , how dare you madam assume I had not enough money. I found the cook/ owner very prejudice and aggressive towards me so I said I was not paying for my meal the gentleman at the till said that was fine and said there was no need to pay the bill at all as she does tend to over react at times, totally I shock of his reply we kept our money wished the other staff a Merry Christmas and left the building..

I read on other reviews where the " owner has said customers are given a chance before paying the bill to say if they are not happy with anything so they can rectify if possible But omg if this is how you treat people with your unprofessional and aggressive attitude do not be surprised that your customers do not return to your establishment. WARNING To anyone thinking of leaving Honest Constructive Criticism Do this at your own peril and be ready for a showdown that will leave you feeling Humiliated for doing so..

We at no point said portions were small and did not make any remarks on the prices of the food and assuredly had more than enough cash to cover the bill.

Thank you very much for the worste experience we have ever had in Cromer/ Norfolk the Cook/female owner did not accept constructive criticism, shouted at us , involved every other customer in the situation and was very prejudice towards us saying and I quote " i have met you kind of people before " ..

To the gentleman on the front desk Thank you for your understanding and generous understanding of the situation.. Sadly we will never step foot in the Bann...

We booked Bann Thai restaurant in Cromer 1a Church Street.

We r in Cromer for a week for a well deserved break - we booked the restaurant when we arrived on Friday 18-6-2021 we advised them it was our 25th wedding anniversary on 20-6-2021 we booked a table for 6.30pm.

On arrival we were seated at a table for 2 very cold & drafty in the restaurant no heating on as sat by a radiator.

No champagne on offer just but prececco listed as champagne order a bottle of white wine which was fine.

We were the first to sit down & order as other customers came in well after us & ordered well after us - I am making this point as apart from our starters - they were served with their main meals on both tables well before us.

The starters was nice and hot in temperature we enjoyed our starters

The mains we had to ask the waitress where our meal was as the other 2 tables was served before us. 5 to 10 minutes later came over to serve us with our main meal both meals were not of a hot temperature. My husbands rice was not even warm was wet & soft - the duck greasy - & luke warm

My husband could not eat his. Mine was not warm at all the noodles were hard not cooked through & the beef not cooked & unable to chew - it appears they were more interested in their other customers not the mixed raced couple that came in to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

I told the waitress when asked about the food what I thought, she asked how was our meal, I ate very little my husband ate more than I did.

Not to standard - the table cloths on our table were not clean on seating

The waitress just offered us the pudding menu really - we just asked for our bill We were present in the restaurant from 6.30pm - 8.15pm - all with a bill for over £80 I do not recommend this restaurant at all - myself & my husband eat out 2 to 3 times weekly for years & have eaten many times in a Thai restaurants always enjoyed our food.

We have never wrote a review ever - but if you don’t want to waste your money do not eat there regardless of their good reviews - they certainly did not welcome us or give us good service or edible food the service was poor

Thank you Bann Thai Restuarant Cromer- we will always remember our 25th wedding anniversary.

Our meal last night was outstanding. We had a mix of starters including the spare ribs and the spring rolls and they were all delicious. The mains that followed continued on that theme. I had my usual of the Panang Quorn. The Panang curry that Bann Thai make is hands down the best Panang I've tried. I normally like to try different things at restaurants but I look forward to the Panang curry each time. It's also the same quality when bought as a takeaway! The rest of our group enjoyed their mains and by the time we had reached dessert we were quite full. Obviously, we had to look at the dessert menu. A new feature of the menu was Belle's homemade coconut ice cream. I don't really like coconut and tend to leave the bounties till the end of the celebration tub but what I experienced with that first taste can only be described as a "moment of clarity". It was sublime. I would strongly recommend leaving just a small bit of space so you can experience it! The staff, as usual, were friendly, inviting and attentive. The price for four of us who were definitely indulging to celebrate a birthday was incredibly reasonable and worth every penny. I had hoped to spend my 30th here but alas, the pandemic ruined that plan. It was such a treat to be able to sit down again in the best restaurant in Cromer. Well...

Able to walk in without reservation on a busy Wednesday in the run up to Christmas. Service was good, given the place was full only slight delays. Interesting diversion as a garden arch installed in the rear dining room fell over with quite a bang. Could probably do with securing to a wall to avoid bopping somone on the head next time! Health and Safety clearly not the forté here. Food was good, sensible portion control and nicely presented. Managed by a farang but the staff are Thai... which is good and assuring. Would recommend when in Cromer.

It's not often I give 5 stars for food but Bann Thai in Cromer deserves it! Very friendly staff. Good place to bring children. We ordered a variety of starters and mains, particularly enjoyed the Thai Beef Salad and Green Tofu Curry. The whole family left feeling very full! We visited on a Friday night and rang ahead in the early evening to reserve a table for 5 and on arrival the restaurant was reasonably busy. I would ring ahead in peak times. We walked to the restaurant which was a good decision as limited parking near the restaurant.

We decided to eat here on the spur of the moment early on a Friday evening. Though normally very busy they were able to fit us in. So glad they did. We had a Pad Thai and it was possibly the best we've eaten. Service was prompt and polite. Although no specific "Free From" menu, they do have a list of all allergens used in each dish, so those who require Gluten Free, Dairly Free or Vegan, can make informed decisions. If you're in Cromer you should try it!
