We visited Stevenson’s Fish Bar in Sheringham after hearing it was one of the top-rated places for chips in the area, and while it mostly lived up to its reputation, there were a few bumps in the experience. To start, the shop is quite small, which can make it feel cramped on busy days, especially when you’re waiting for an order. Though the staff behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, we did have an unusually long wait. Unfortunately, it turned out our order had been overlooked, so several people who arrived after us received their food first. It wasn’t until we flagged this up that they realized the mistake. A simple ticket system could make this process smoother and help avoid any future mix-ups. Once our chips arrived, they were served piping hot, which was a big plus. The chips were well-cooked, with a satisfying crunch on the outside and fluffiness inside. Portion sizes were just right—not too skimpy and not overwhelmingly large. Overall, Stevenson’s Fish Bar offers a good product with a warm, friendly atmosphere, but a bit of improvement on the ordering system could make the experience more enjoyable.

Can't beat a chip shop at the seaside the food here was delicious eat in (seating for about 20 people) or take away good choice on the menu with the price being about the norm these days My daughter and I both opted for sausage(not from the butchers unfortunately) and chips mine with a most excellent curry sauce thourghly enjoyed it quick service too

The anaemic chips tasted slightly better than they looked. The peas were tasteless. That one pounds worth of gravy was the worst that I have ever encountered, I would now have gladly paid them £1 not to have put it on my chips. Not the cleanest establishment. The service was efficient but not welcoming.

We came for lunch last week at this lovely fish & chip bar that my daughter had found for my husband & I online & we weren’t disappointed.

The girl serving went out of her way when we told her we weren’t that hungry (big hotel breakfast earlier!) & offered us a small portion of fish each & we shared a small chip portion.

When it was brought to us, the fish was a perfect size and we had a more than decent amount of chips each & we were delighted to find it was only just over £12 and worth every penny.

The cod and batter were superb, as were the lovely proper fish & chip shop chips.

We highly recommend Stevensons & it really ‘made our visit’ to...

Visited today on a busy sunny Saturday and the food was reasonable/good. HOWEVER, the customer service was absolutely dreadful, I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed such RUDE and POOR serving/customer service. Admittedly, we only ever go to the seaside in the summer but there is no way we'll be going back to this chip shop. AVOID! Also, it's not possible to pay by card. I mean seriously? In 2019? The only businesses that I know of, that operate still like this are the ones that are terribly strapped for cash. None-the-less, if I owed a business, I would do my utmost to make the customers happy. After all, a business without customers =...
