I'm not sure if I caught this place on a bad day, but this had to be one of, if not the worst places I have ever eaten in, the food was inedible, It turns my stomach thinking of it today. I ordered a breakfast, pleasant waitress, but it was like she had never taken an order before. Our food took over 20 mins to come, I could understand if they were busy, but there was only four other customers, two of which had already eaten. Yet our food arrived separately not sure who a toasted sandwich took longer than a "freshly cooked"breakfast, so we couldn't even eat together. To say it was dreadful, is me being polite. I asked for my bacon to be well done, it arrived so dried out and overcooked it was like trying to eat a piece of shoe leather, the sausage, was so dry, it was impossible to get the knife through it, I gave up. I stupidly opted for tomato rather than beans, in my innocence I expected a piece of a Tomato, not a ramekin with tinned tomatoes. The toast was barely toasted, the only saving grace was the tea and the egg, I cannot believe how bad the food was there, we wanted to complain about the food, but was not sure how this would be taken. We were never asked once, if our food was O.K, even after they took our mostly full plates back. The sandwich was also awful, it was tuna and tasted odd according to my friend. Avoid at all cost, really terrible seems like it could be a nice place and got great reviews and...
Read morePopped in while passing to get a bite to eat, thought it was a bit "twee" at first, you know, cakes, scones, soup etc so only asked for a toasted cheese sandwich and coffee, then watched as a proper belly buster breakfast went past me to a customer on the tables out front. I missed out there as the only menu I could see seemed to involve dogs - only I didn't fancy eating one of those - although it most likely was for them rather than out of them.... I expect. Should have asked. Sandwich was good, but not as good as the breakfast would have been, coffee was good, place is clean, standard chairs and tables inside and out, saw one sofa if you like to lounge, the ladies working inside that day were friendly...but you can never tell, I've seen those movies with nice old ladies, and that single, suspicious doggie menu...well,...
Read moreI have been there to benefit from eat out and help out scheme on the Tuesday 18th August 2020. Gandhi, once said, "the greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated". This Cafe gives extraordinary importance to dogs. There are visiting dog pics everywhere and I believe that the owner is a great dog follower/ lover. It was overall an impressive place to hang out. I ordered chicken pie with vegetables lunch menu along with a cappuccino. The food was great as well. I spent over an hour there and found a old lady (customer) who seems to frequently visit this place not just to enjoy the food but also to chat with the owner. In nutshell, this is the place to be for relaxing and to enjoy homemade food. Will visit...
