Ruchita Tandoori — Restaurant in North Tyneside

I have used this takeaway for over 7 years ordering the same thing every time. The set meal for two chicken tikka and lamb Rogan Josh. Always changed the lamb to chicken. So tonight to save issues for tomorrow night I did a pre-order. I felt this a easy option for the takeaway having orders in advance. The order was for 8.30 on the 31st December 2021. At 8.03 tonight 30th my door went. Delivery driver with my delivery for tomorrow night!!! He checked receipt realised the error and rang the restaurant. I asked for same order tomorrow night. That should have been the end of it. No the man I spoke to was rude and said we are not doing set meals tomorrow night. I said according to just eat you are. He said they haven't turned it off. I said that's not my issue you have to honour my order I've paid for it!! He said you haven't paid us so we don't have to honour it at all, full of attitude. I don't care who I paid I paid, the order should be honoured surely. No cancelled order and refunded. I've told them I won't be ordering again. His attitude was appalling, for a long standing customer you would think they would apologies and send what I ordered tomorrow night. That's what should have happened. It was disgraceful how it...

Ruchita Tandoori refused to take our order because I have a nut allergy and they said they don't cater for allergies. This is discrimination. Any restaurant or food service can expect to have customers with dietary requirements or allergies, if they can't cater then they shouldn't be in the takeaway business. Every other takeaway we've ordered from has let us know which dishes have nuts in and that there are nuts in the kitchen so they can't completely guarantee that there will be no contamination. This is fair enough and it is at my own risk that I would then place an order. Most places have great food hygiene practice in place and I very rarely come across nut traces in my food. The fact that this takeaway refuses our order based on my allergy makes me strongly question their food hygiene practice in the kitchen. Disappointing. Everyone has their own preference and expectations when it comes to Indian food - but in all honesty - it's never been my first choice for a takeaway (however) I put this down to a short and distant trail of extremely disappointing past experience.

To be fair to the business - It's the best I've had in a long time and I have family members who absolutely love Ruchita Tandoori (and have been loyal customers for many years now and won't go anywhere else) so I guess that speaks volumes.

Based on my own two experience's of Ruchita Tandoori I would probably say give them a try and make your own mind up.

I'm not much of an expert when it comes to this type of food and I don't really know what to expect but it tastes clean and fresh and the portions are generous if that helps and the customer service is exceptional right from the restaurant to the delivery drivers landing on your...
