The Dolphin — Restaurant in North Tyneside

Popped in for an early dinner before a show Bar staff were very attentive. I ordered fish and chips, 1 llarge & 1 small. The server was courteous but the food was below standard. Double cooked chips were limp and soggy. The small f&c was two thumb sized fish sticks in overcooked in batter My plate was half a doubled over fillet on a bed of similar anemic soggy chips. I requested a replacemet. The server agreed and replaced my order A replacement serving of fish was provided alon with the previous soggy chips after microwaving. The species depicted on the menu was Haddock. May I suggest a cheaper fish cut was substituted which rendered the fish pale, overcooked and tasteless. We both left our food, complained about the quality of our food, paid @ the bar and complained to the staff on duty..We were offered zero compensation for the poor quality food. If this is the new owners best effort......... don't order food at...

Came here for Sunday lunch. This place really needs to up its vegetarian game as so many people are veggie these days. There was no vegetarian option available due to the kitchen not having ordered anything. We ended up having quiche instead. No good if we were vegan. Such a shame as the vegetables were pretty decent. But no one wants to have a Sunday dinner that’s just veg! Also no custard available to go with sponge pudding for desert. Alright to have laminated menus but if half the options aren’t available it...

We have called into the dolphin on a number of occasions either for a cheeky pint or 2 and some food and usual food and drinks come with pleasant and quick service as normal and again last night (thursday) food and drink served with speed and smiles although must say coujons were a little darker than normal tased lovely but a little too crisp for me, but my partner was eating them and she was fine to have them a little toastie otherwise a lovely night out and met some nice people good friendly pub and...
